Vick Signs with Eagles!

It is also a real huge freakin mistake to think that the bulk of this anti vick feeling is from PETA wacko’s. A lot of well adjusted dog owners were outraged about this. To say it was just extremists upset about this really does miss what was going on here. Don’t try in some backwards way to validate Vick by saying he was a victim of some extremist movement. It would have never gone this far if it was. Nobody takes Peta seriously anyway. They are lunatics.

He’s right. It is confirmed.

I am an Eagles fan and I have tried to make my love for pitbulls well known.

I am not happy about this. He doesn’t deserve a second chance, he needs to earn it and he needs to go earn it with another team.

What the hell was Joe thinking?

This is my girlfriend and our dog in their eagles attire. The caption for this photo was “Cheering on our team”. I actually have to laugh at myself right now. I am a pitbull loving eagles fan. What a mess.

you girl look 16 years old.
Really? I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing but just to make it clear she is of legal age.

Agree with you there.

My beef is mainly with the Skip Bayless sort of characters who went on ESPN and ranted and raved about Vick for a good 3 months (and will probably do for another month or two) when there was not even the same close to outrage over the Stallworth situation.

Or how about Leonard Little? Dude killed somebody in a DUI and was suspended for 8 games in 1999. In 2004, he was charged with another DUI (although he managed not to kill anybody this time) and didn’t miss a game because of that.

Is Vick a scumbag? Yeah, but my point is that so are a lot of these guys but the media doesn’t seem to cover it because I guess the issue doesn’t play as well on TV.

Im anti vick and anti PETA.

I dont know but dogs fighting to the death and horses racing is different.

Dogs are starved and treated horribly to make them tougher, cant be said for horses, which Im not crazy about eiher.

Dogs that are weaker are used as bait dogs and are mamed and killed by other more aggressive and ferocious dogs. This is all caused by evil in humanity. I dont understand how people just poo poo what vick did. And no one is condoning what stallworth did, but they are completely different issues

Vick is talented man. You can argue about that shit till you turn blue but he’s probably one of the most talented QBs in the game right now, maybe ever.

Plus, I like animals and used to have dogs myself. But he was fighting FIGHTING DOGS. I wouldn’t have a problem at all with that except that he killed the dogs. If he hadn’t, it wouldn’t have been any different than racing horses and shit.

He did his time and it’s not like he killed a human being like Stalworth did. And how come that shit doesn’t get much airtime like Vick’s case? Cause as sad as it is, some bitches(PETA) care more about fuckin animals(which from the beginning of time were hunted for FOOD by humans)than humans! I forgot who said this but it’s quite true. “If people see a homeless person on the street with a dog, they’re gonna feel sorry for the dog. They’ll take the dog home with them and give dirty looks to the homeless guy”. Oh yeah, Chris Rock said that shit. Funniest Man in the world.

Probably because the homeless guy has the ability to make himself better. Like get a job, get off the sauce or in the most sad cases which are the only ones I understand, get on his meds. Many people may not know this but many homeless are seriously mentally ill people who need real help. So Chris rock is right, I would take the dog home but not because I don’t care for the person. I just realize that there is nothing I could do to help him.
Good point, but I could’ve made a better example. My point was, everyone’s on Vick’s ass about the dogs way too much. And he did his time, but morons still think he doesn’t deserve a second chance. Like I said, Stalworth killed a human being while driving drunk and noone seems to pay attention to it.

Plus Stallworth did 30 fuckin days in jail compared to Vick’s almost 2years. I think that’s a better example of how fucked up society is when it comes to this.

This is all true. I would be an asshole if I tried to argue with you on it.

Err… what?

Dog fighting is illegal in the US. While specific breeds may have a history of fighting many, many years ago, there are no dogs – save illegal operations like Vick’s – that are born “fighting dogs.”

And you only have a problem because he killed them? What the hell do you think is a possible outcome of a fucking dog fight? They don’t go have beers together after.

True

Mike, I’ve seen your history of posts. You most definitely rock.

The victims family decided to settle, how bout the family being fucked up and deciding to put a price on the man who persihed life.

People who said there is too much attention being paid to VIck is complete bullshit. All the vick news has been about where he may be signing or if the commish will reinstate, not so much what he did. Stallworth is being banned from the league for the year for what its worth.

everyone has to stop comparing the two, they are just not comparable.

It is also true that if you got the talent you will be given another chances. Ray lewis anyone?

Or there is the antithesis to the ray lewis ordeal…anyone remember Mark Chmura?

Thanks SBT!

I love dogs. I love Hokies. I don’t hate Vick.

The dude was living a fucked up life, couldn’t see the point of moving out of the ghetto in Va. Beach and got burnt doing stupid shit. He did his time, let him be. If he fucks up again though, I say perma-ban, but I hope he has learned how stupid and fucked up what he did was, and has actually made a change.

Hokies Respect

i cant believe how bad people hate on this man.

OJ Simpson killed a bitch!

Damn…Vick + McNabb + Philly fans = FUN…lol.

Could these dog lovers please give me a justification for valuing a dog’s life more than say, any other organism’s life. I’ve never really received a satisfactory answer that didn’t involve reasoning along the lines of, “they’re really cute.”

you probably don’t own a dog.

by your argument, killing an ant and killing a dog are the same thing. surely, even as someone that doesn’t have a dog such as yourself, you can see the difference. Now imagine, that animal being a part of your life for 10-15 yrs.

Really? I think anyone can agree that those morons at PETA did much of this. BUT, alot of people rode PETA’s dick on this one too. You can go online or watch T.V and find someone holding signs and “regular people” protesting that VICK get a longer prison term. As much as we all hate PETA, alot of people are affected by them and get sucked in to their fucked up slogans. Ask people on the streets and they’ll say they hate PETA, but one guy kills dogs, they all wanna sign up and be a part of their organization. And another NFL player kills a man, they won’t even bother giving it a thought.

The Eagles coach is a Goddamned liar. He was on sportcenter just Wednesday saying that they were content with the current QB situation and that they were no in the market for Vick. Lies I tell you.

Honestly you guys are mingling their personal lives with their professional lives. I want the best player for the job. I could give a fuck if he screwed donkeys on Saturdays while watching chicken porn. Its what you bring to the team. Vick could have gone his ENTIRE career without getting caught and we would still be rooting for him, because he is a great athlete. I am a Giants fan and I still want that Asshat Plaxico on my team because of what he brings to the table.

I am an animal lover and personally think that Vick is a heartless bastard who should get ass raped by a Great Dane daily for the duration of his parole. I still thinks that he should be allowed to play he didn’t cheat in his ACTUAL profession, like scores, of baseball players who cheat and get a slap on the wrist. Shit Jim Brown had all sorts of personal problems during his career but that doesn’t take away from his greatness on the gridiron. Hate him for the person he is not the great football player that he was.

As a dog lover, I know what you’re saying but dude above has a point. If this was cock-fighting, would this be getting the play it has in the media? Sure we all love dogs more than ants, but there’s no real logical reason I can see why killing a dog is intrinsically worse than killing an ant. It’s just sentimentality.

How is his protection? I bet he takes more punishment than any other qb this year. Hell, I bet he won’t be be able to finish the season.
