You haven’t mentioned what your reasons (or your parent’s reasons) are for being vegetarian. My girlfriend is vegetarian but primarily for environmental reasons. So it’s fine if I buy the organic free-range beef fresh from the local butcher shop. If you’re worried about ‘betraying’ your parents, why don’t you talk with them first? As another poster mentioned, check out mercola.com and the beyond veg website, and educate yourself about the benefits of the paleo diet.
As long as you stick to quality meats, you should have no trouble easing back into it. My advice would be to stay away from the stronger meats such as lamb and pork/ham products, and just have free range organic chicken and beef. Eat fish too, if you can find fresh, not farmed fish.
