Vegetarian Eating as a Strength Competitor

A fellow i work with has a son who is a vegetarian, and took a whole work shift to explain to me how it can benefit me in my powerlifting. he talked about how all meats even fish block the body’s oxygen receptors and whole bunch of shit like that(now that i think about it, to much to explain). so i’ll get to the point. is there any powerlifters/strongman competitors out there who are vegetarians? im just curious.

is his son strong? anyways i never got stronger until I started eating more meat.
