I will only be able to use a low calorie diet for 2 weeks with one week in between. This is due to vacations. The rest of my time will be filled up with football training, wrestling, speed development 5 days a week hence I need a sufficient amount of calories.
Would it even be worth it to use the v-diet 1 week on, 1 week off, 1 week on? I understand that I will lose and gain glycogen and water quickly.

Dude, why?
Why bother with the v-diet at all?
Football, wrestling and speed work and you want to radically reduce your calories to lose weight?
You’ll end up in the hospital, man…and probably be cut from your teams for shitty performance.
Sorry to be so blunt, but given your sports training, the v-diet is the LAST thing i would suggest doing.
If you’re just trying to tighten up or get a little leaner…i would say just do some simple things like cleaning up carb sources, fat sources…etc.
For carbs, stick to mostly fruits, veggies and keep whole grains for around the time of your training sessions or in the early half of the day.
What are your ultimate goals for nutrition?
Why were you considering the v-diet at all?
I’m considering the v-diet to lean up for wrestling even though it’s a while away. I want to make varsity (wrestling) and know I can if I lean up a bit. I’ll be a sophmore in HS. The only other time I’d be able to do a low cal diet would be next year mabye. I’ll only be doing the v-diet when Im on vacation and not training as hard and often.
You are a sophomore in high school? I am willing to be that everyone at this site (including all the owners and writers) would tell you not to go on the diet.

If you’re a sophomore in HS, your body is changing; growth plates are still in the process of hardening and all that other good stuff that comes with being around 15-16. Intense calorie (not to mention vitamin and mineral) restriction would be a bad idea, imho. You will make WAY more progress if you take the time to clean up your diet and get that locked in, IMOH.
In a week on the V, water will be shed. That’s probably about it. The whole point of the diet is to blow out your body and reset it. Why spend all that money on supps and half ass it? Berardi has written a million nutrition articles on here and along with the threads, that should be more than enough info. Clean up the diet bro and good luck with your training.
