Using Close Grip Press on HS

How do you guys feel about beginners using close grip press on the Hammer Strength machine instead of barbell or DB? The reason i ask is because my left tricep is smaller and weaker than my right. I tried using DBs but since i do triceps after my shoulder workout it always irritates my left and i dont really feel it quite as much. At the same time a lot of people tell me i should stay away from machines…

You might want to ask yourself why your left tricep feels off after doing shoulders. It might be the beginning signs of an injury.

I’d stop doing triceps after shoulders if it bothers you. Find another day to do triceps, maybe after chest? Also if you feel a machine working your triceps better than free weight movements I see nothing wrong with doing it.
