Another thing to notice- it looks much more like the ratios that existed in the american diet pre- “McGovern Committee” and Ancel Keyes. Its how used to eat traditionally before the damn government stuck their nose where it didn’t belong.

Piece of meat

blob of mashed potatoes

salad or mixed vegetables

glass of milk

Apple for dessert.

Damn. Thanks for telling us what our mothers knew 30 years ago. Now, if people would just eat like this again… yeah.[/quote]

if you look deeper, that protein section isn’t meat per se, they still recommend only 3-4oz of meat a day. Protein section can be nuts and peas for example.

The amount of food from the Protein Foods Group you need to eat depends on age, sex, and level of physical activity. Most Americans eat enough food from this group”

yeah, b/c too much protein is what is causing the health and weight problem in this country, not the sole focus of too many grains in the diet. Not saying grains are bad, but lots of people eat cereal for breakfast, sandwich at lunch then more carbs with dinner.

carb heavy, not enough protein IMO.

Grains are 100% essential for human life.

You will in fact explode if you don’t consume enough Whole Grain every day.

I’m told that Americans aren’t getting enough Whole Grain? Are you?
