Unilateral Chest Press for Home Gym?

I have found a chest press similare to the one pictured for pretty cheap on craigslist. Is this a worth while piece of equipment to own? I have never used one but know a few people who have and seem to like them

Um yess. Those types of ‘machines’ are probably the best available. Compared to the selectorized (weight stack) ones. Hammer Strength makes top notch stuff.

I like the machine, but it takes up a lot of room; might not be the best idea for a home gym.

Do you have an issue with barbell and/or dumbbell bench presses?

If not, I’d stick with them for the majority of your chest work.

I vote no, but a lot of people use this piece of equipment.

Why? Obviously this guy isn’t building a powerlifting facility if he is asking about buying this piece, so what is the reason to limit one’s self to freeweights? Especially if the opportunity is there to pick up this kind of equipment on craigslist.

I’m in the market for one of these. I lift solo and would like something that I can push my max on without the fear of getting pinned or being forced to drop the DBs.
