and Magic and Isaih both suck/ed at it. Being great at one does not translate well to the other. Often times it is the opposite. Since ego is a necessary part of all sports, especially combat, many greats do not have the rational demeanor it takes to be a good coach.
I do agree that aside from the time with the Marinovichs, BJ seems to like surrounding himself with his friends and family as training partners rather than people who will push him to grow. My opinion is this is probably due to both loyalty and ego.
