BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) – Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki shrugged off U.S. doubts of his government’s military and political progress Saturday, saying Iraqi forces are capable and American troops can leave “anytime they want.”

I concur. Unfortunately, I think you’d see a quick turn around in sentiment if we were load up the busses and pull out. I’d love to see their reaction. I say, fuck’em. Good luck motherfuckers. We’ll be back in less then five years after Bagdad becomes the capitol of terrorism and the left nut of Tehran.

The man is right. The war has been won for some time now. Iraq may well devolve into chaos if we leave, but I really don’t care. It will not find itself a terrorist fundamentalist state. The Iraqis are fighting more for their freedom than the cowards in the GOP and O’Reilly are claiming. They are but populist cowards.

That said, our presence is making the life there better and the transition to a democratic nation an easier and cleaner one. That’s reason enough to stay for me. At the very least they gotta give Petraus till September like he asked.
