Twice a Day Training Question

I am about to embark on a few weeks of twice a day training whilst using only one lift a day. What is the minimum amount of time I have to wait between sessions? I know the practicality of A.M training followed by a P.M session but what if I can only get to the Gym after work? Is it OK to do an early evening session followed a few hours later by a late evening session?

Waterbury recommends at least 6 hours between sessions.

Most suggestions I have seen have been for 6-8 hours between morning and afternoon/evening sessions.
