Yeah, I know we’re told to stay far from processed lunch meats, but turkey SPAM is made from 100% white meat. It doesn’t have too much fat (its only additional fat source is turkey fat), has a lot of protein, but does have a good amount of salt/preservatives (sodium phosphate). Various studies in the past have said that sodium nitrates (found in the “meat” SPAM varities) can cause cancer in lab animals but more recent studies dismiss that . . .
is there anything in turkey SPAM that’s going to derail my efforts in the gym? So long as blood pressure is kept low (mine is 110/70), does a little extra salt screw you over?
