What does 5RM mean?

Front Squat 6 x 3 @ 5RM



5RM = 5 rep max = the most weight you can do for five reps.


It means to choose a weight that is your 5 rep max (RM). A weight you could only do 5 reps and no more...and then you end up doing six sets of three with that weight.

It's another way to figure out how much weight to use for your sets rather than percentages, since they are not accurate due to different fiber makeup.
