The dems will run a female. They want the historic claims of having the first this or that despite qualifications or ability.
Given who our POTUS is, I’d say Dems have much higher standards irt qualifications and abilities, but that’s just me.

Well, there is a distinction (pretty important one) between “convention” republicans and the populace who elected the current POTUS. Convention repubs hate him just as much as dems.

They were billing themselves as “the party of firsts” prior to that blood bath, er, I mean election.

I don’t think the DEMS will be first.
Barring some skeletons in her closet (there have been some hints)…
I’ve gone on record saying Nikki Haley could very well be the first.
I think she could garner a lot of the GOP votes; but most importantly; she is very strong with Independents and Moderates. I also think that she would appeal to the Trumpkins that shake off their current Comatose state.
I still say that this young crop of “Democratic Socialist” is (for the short run at least); dead in the water.
On a side note; for me, Pence is dead. While I liked him at one time; he comes off like Scott Farkas’s Toadie everytime he talks about “…Under the Strong Leadership of Trump…”
I literally get nauseous listening to the man.

Barack Obama was a unique person who came along at a unique point is history…who most importantly had a patience and a calm temperament that allowed him to weather crises, criticism and the pressure of the office in ways that made him truly unique.
If a black man came along with the brashness of Muhammad Ali; and the vulgar divisiveness and thin-skin of Trump…he wouldn’t make it past his front porch, much less to POTUS.
