Trump: The First Year

Between you, EyeDentist, H_factor, and magnumd, I should have no problem covering the bills. I bet there are a lot of doctors in favor of medical socialism, so they should be willing to take care of my kid for whatever I can afford.

Socialism could occur in a free society, but a free society can’t exist where socialism is forced. It’s always seemed strange that supporters of socialism insist on forcing their policies upon others instead of just following their hearts in a free society.

Thanks.

We’re all individuals in the LLC.

Okay… so you’re interjecting your opinion on these two bills and EO.

All this, in order to try an argue that me pointing out that the republicans have in fact issued 2 bills for vote, and now Trump has issued an EO, therefore the phrase “refused to maintenance is wrong” incorrect?

Am I following here?

How is projecting your opinion of the bills unto the bills to the point where you made the claim they were introduced solely to “destroy” the ACA not spin?

Sorry you feel that way.

Good catch. It’s always a bad look when you, in two separate posts, attack a poster’s intelligence rather than their post, and have typos in the post.

I’ll lay it out for you:

  1. You complained that I was tough on your phrasing, saying it wasn’t important.
  2. Then, via your response pointed out how phrasing was important, as I’d left off an important, very important if you will, portion of a statement.

SO that proves my point that phrasing is important.

A) you said a service wasn’t fit for free market
B) I said that was silly because it was the market
C) you then went on to prove it was the market*

*During this proof, pointed out I was only telling half the story in my being critical of your phrasing, because I had shit phrasing. See #1 & #2

Don’t be so quick to judge. As long as I have the time, I’ll always take it to explain what I mean.

You’re tax return is about to become more complicated. I recommend composites when the composite rate isn’t higher than the cost to prepare the individual return + individual rate.

Thanks, Beans.

I would say there is an enormous difference between quibbling over phrasing vs making statements that are fundamentally, foundationally incorrect. The point being, the latter is far more than an issue of ‘phrasing.’ (Example: If you were to make the statement ‘The earth is flat,’ I would not characterize it as ‘poor phrasing.’)

I mos def did not “prove it was the market.” I indicated that a market is an emergent phenomenon that requires the existence of both supply and demand. No supply? No market. No demand? No market. Both are necessary; neither is sufficient. Thus, neither can be said to ‘be the market.’

Nope.

Because my “opinion” of the bills carry the same weight as your “opinion” of the bills. INTENT is opinion, unless you’re sitting on the words of the Congressmen who created the bill.

I’m not attacking your intelligence. Nobody is smart enough for those to be the only 2 options. You simply happen to fall into the reverse category of everybody.

If I were attacking your intelligence, I would claim you’re being intellectually dishonest then proceed to state all the ways I don’t understand things.

Agreed, hence me taking exceptions to the phrases you used, and then you getting all butthurt about it.

Yes you did. Even in an attempt to say you didn’t prove it, you did prove it was.

What you also did was point out how I left off half the story. How my assertion was wrong because I left off a very significant detail. You know… Because phrasing and words matter…

Then I’m completely lost as to why you’re arguing with me then.

All I did was point out that ED was 100% incorrect is saying “they refused to do maintenance”.

You’ve spent an awful lot of time dancing around this to not really have any evidence of the contrary.

Sure. I haven’t given my opinion on them I believe. And if I did, I’m pretty sure I referred to them in some way or another as “shit”.

This as a concrete statement is not true.

I don’t particularly trust any politician.

lol, okay.

Is today opposite day.

Who’s “everybody”?

But if you’re stating here what I think you are, no appeals to popularity won’t shape my view point very often. 75% of the earth’s human population can think 2+2=5, but it’s still 4, no matter how many people disagree.

If this is some sort of passive aggressive swipe, come out with it. Rant away. DOn’t hold back on my account.

What if you were talking about the flat lands of the serengeti?

Is it not your opinion that these bills were made to “maintain” Ocare? Personally, it’s my opinion that the 2 bills AND the EO were created with the intent to undermine/eliminate Ocare. If you have concrete proof that your view is correct, and that the intent of the parties who created the bill was to MAINTAIN Ocare, please present it so I can look foolish.

It is if you include the 2nd half of my line where you need to have the words of the person whom the intent comes from.

Now I might have to attack a little intelligence…

Wasn’t passive aggressive at all. It’s pretty easy to understand.

Don’t be pedantic and worry about specifics and being accurate. He was clearly speaking of a situation that allows him to never, every have to utter the phrase “I was wrong”.

Speaking of the Serengeti. You know who is the King of the Serengeti?

Tom fuckin Brady.

My opinion of the bills were that they were shit, just like the ACA. Some good, mostly bad, and essentially shit due to partisans being partisans.

I’ve never argued in favor of the two bills.

What I have argued is that ED said something that was fundamentally wrong, which the introduction of the two bills and EO are proof he was.

Neither the bills nor the EO repeal the ACA, therefore the ACA is still there after passage & signature.

The bills were introduced, and didn’t eliminate the ACA.

It’s still not true as a concrete statement. Courts prove intent all the time without “the words of the person whom the intent comes from” hence me cutting it off. But include it all you want.

Go ahead.

You’re assessment of my intelligence won’t prevent me from asking questions when I’m not clear. If it makes you feel better, feel free.

I can see why people are up in arms about the call. And obviously I’m biased, but I think the refs got that one right.

That said, I wouldn’t exactly be all up in arms if they ruled it a touch either.

End of the day, good teams play well enough to win in spite of bad officiating.

Their D is miserable with a capital M. I’m surprised they even covered once. Their opponents average a first down with every completion. That’s a coaching problem, IMO…

Ya. Right call, dumb rule.

Meh…hope when Brady retires they get a 100 yr curse like cubs. Im a Jets fan. Also lets be honest Pats fans are the worst. That accent & clam chowder breath…its #disgusting

I forgot, any bill that isn’t full repeal = maintenance. Looks like we’re back to agree to disagree territory.

Courts guess at intent. Usually (hopefully) they’re educated guesses. As courts get things wrong, they’re not a definitive source of intent.

If a court “proved” the intent of someone, and it happened to be wrong, does that mean the original person doesn’t know what they intended in the first place?

If you need clarity on the definition of “everybody,” you’ll have to seek help elsewhere. Have a good one.

Sorry bro, lol. That’s gotta be rough these days.

Without question, Boston fans are some of, if not the most, obnoxious pricks in the sports fan world, without question.

We grew up rooting for teams that were awful and were embarrassed on a regular basis. (Post Bill Russel and Old school Bruins, but I know jack and shit about BB or hockey). Then 2001 comes along and the sports franchises in this town can’t lose.

We’re spoiled no doubt, and the good days will end soon enough. But god damn man, it was an amazing run for this area…

lol. Okay.

A little quip I like to use to explain things to clients who like to ask “can I do X?”:

You know the difference between a mistake and fraud, other than significant jail time?

Intent.

Edit: incase this isn’t clear, you don’t go to prison based on guesses. They actually prove shit.

Alright, lets try this again…

Given the following:

WHo do you mean by everybody? Everyone in this thread? Everyone you talk to? Everyone at Fox? Everyone from North Carolina? Everyone in the world?

Who’s everybody?

Sorry me having no clue wtf the quote is supposed to mean makes me dumb, but it certainly can’t have anything to do with how you said it, we’ve found out that pedantry and a waste of bandwidth. Everyone is 100% clear all the time.

If you don’t like the word maintenance fine, but what those bills and no an EO certainly are not is they are NOT a refusal to do maintenance.

You want to play semantics around “maintenance” to project your opinion of the GOP onto the world, go ahead. It doesn’t change reality.
