Agree.
Eh. I disagree. Unless we’re defining his base as those whose support will never waver under any circumstances, I think his declining poll numbers since inauguration demonstrate that his support can waiver, and in 2020 we’ll see it waiver even more.
Having a base doesn’t actually matter if they don’t get off their asses and vote. Just ask the Dems, they know all too well what a lazy base looks like.
Triggered. Haha.
Then the base can’t waiver by definition
In my opinion, the biggest and possibly only realistic way for Trump to lose his base would be to start another war/occupy another country. That’s how I read into the backlash after the Syria bombings.
Do you watch or read the news? Trump is threatening a government shutdown.
Well, he is threatening Iran right now. War with them would make Iraq look like a training exercise. (I’m sure Bolton’s been rocking a stiffy over that idea for years).
But I don’t think even that, or the lack of a wall, will cause the Trump bootlickers to abandon him. But I also think the number of true diehards is well below 40%.
A. If Congress allows a war with Iran they should all be imprisoned.
B.I think the true Trump cultists number around 20%.
Could be anecdotal, but I’m seeing a good bit of negative feelings in my family with all the Russia stuff.
My cousin’s aren’t moved by the Russia shit at all though. They were born mid 90s and barely consider Russia a threat.
Damn. Out of the loop for one day.
Meanwhile, my wife is trying to fill 120 positions over the next 8 months and can only fill about half the bill per training class.
Does she need a professional smart alec? I’m looking. She runs call centers right? I could do the reverse of the Indians with anglicanized nick names.
In perfect ynizer dialect:
“Hello this is Rajneesh”
You would be pretty well over qualified for a regular floor position, but your idea for a specialty is great.
I could just see the weekly calibration calls with the client “So, this agent you have, Rajneesh? Is he from the north side?”.
That is more than a possibility with the Chicken Hawk John Bolton as NSA.
He certainly was highly critical of President Obama; on almost a daily basis; for not being “tough” on Iran.
Let’s see how “tough” he will be…and how many Americans will have to die…for him to prove his “toughness”.
(By the way; he was born in 1948; making him “prime” Vietnam age. He wrote in his Yale 25th reunion book "I confess I had no desire to die in a Southeast Asian rice paddy… ")
Right…
To be fair, it’s absurdly common to see this viewpoint. People supporting sending OTHER people to die for a cause is much easier than having to sack up themselves.
Personally I don’t think captain bone spurs is keen on another war. He saw what happened to G.W. and I’m guessing he has no desire to see that happen to his legacy
Yeah but only if you have widespread public support. Afghanistan wouldn’t have distracted from shit if it didn’t have such widespread support from people who wanted to send other people to die for the cause.
Which is why you pull a Reagan and invade some island no one heard of.
G.W. won a 2nd term. The Bush Legacy= Dynasty. 2 Presidents and a Governor is pretty good for one family.
Getting rid of a murderous dictator and taking it to terrorists who hit us pretty hard isn’t a bad legacy. In the end that’s all people will remember in the end. I’d take that legacy.
A 2 term president who got Saddam Hussein out of power. That’s the Bush legacy, you can forget all the other shit. People here have short memories.
He won a second term because we were at war during election time. History already paints GW as a buffoon who cost our country trillions and destabalized an entire region on bad Intel.
Shit that’s not his legacy TODAY. Why would it be his legacy in the future?
People remember the crash of the economy a lot more than replacing a dictator with another guy and violence in the region going nowhere.
