Triceps Assistance for Bench

By far, my go-to exercise for tricep strength and thickness are DB floor presses. 4 sets of 10 as heavy as you can go and keep 'em tucked low. After that, we use the football/swiss bar. When we do pushdowns, typically we don’t use any of the normal cable attachments (v-bar, short straight bar). We’ll use a lat bar and take a wider grip, each arm is probably 8 inches wider than shoulder width.

I just press as often as possible. When I get into more tricep specific stuff, all it does is make my elbows hurt.

slingshot bench, floor press, close grip bench, some partial ROM stuff like board presses but don’t go crazy with it.

as is the case with most people that think they have a lockout problem, its normally an underdeveloped muscle leading up to the lockout. normally its the chest but depending on bench grip and form and stuff it could really be anything.

a video would probably be very helpful
