Tricep Bencher

I noticed this phrase on the chest roundtable. I only use d’bells to bench and I think I am a “tricep bencher”. My triceps are relatively better developed than my chest and whenever I bench I feel it more in my triceps. Am I rightin thinking that it is my technique at fault and possibly my ego too. Any tips or suggestions please?

Breakdown,
being a “triceps” bencher is not a “fault”. It merely states where most of the training stress occurs / which muscles contribute most to the execution of the lift.
Body structure, grip width and style of lifting can all be influences.

Thanks for the insight. What can I do to make the exercise target the chest more?

Widen your grip on the bar. Load may go down at first, but you’ll be taking the tri’s out of it a little and targeting the pics more. Worked for me.
