Overhead Medley with a 102 kg Axel, then 102 kg Log, and 57 kg Circus Dumbbell. 99% chance of zero’ing that one but I think after that I should be able to start not zero all Overhead events. I have the forward momentum at this point but 6 weeks probably is not enough to make up the deficit. I think 102 kg log would not be unfeasible sometime this year.

Hmm. Where does Axle fit in terms of weight/difficulty relatively to other over head pressing like the barbell or log?

Having basically zero experience pressing a real axle, I assume its easier than Log and slightly harder than a standard barbell.

@strongmanvinny2 or @T3hPwnisher can weigh in one this since they would have more experience with it.

It honestly depends on what we mean by difficulty. I can strict press more with a 12" log than I can with an axle, because the ROM is shorter and I can bend my back enough to take advantage of it. However, when it comes to use leg drive, an axle is easier since it rolls less than a log does out of the rack position, so it’s easier to drive through on it. More balanced too.

Thanks for weighing in, yeah I have I noticed with log is that towards the end of hard sets the log likes to try and roll out of the rack position, and that it is a harder implement to balance with than a barbell.

Hamstrings were really sore so I took some extra warmups. I also jumped ahead a little. 4 x 3 @ 260 didn’t seem like a good idea reviewing my last Squat session. Bar was sliding off my shoulders hard for the last 2 reps last week. So I jumped weight a little bit and dropped to 4 x 2.

So I missed reps. Instead of trying to force it I just dropped back, did the Speed work, just added an extra set to that. Frustrating to say the least.

Cool thing though. I requested a new dip belt for the gym, since the one they had was one solid piece. I had a hard time getting the damn thing over my hips. If I had a hard time getting it over mine I figured a bunch of people were unable to use it too. I put in the request for one that wasn’t one solid piece and that opened up. I came in today and the manager walked up to me right away to have me confirm if the belt they bought was what I asked for. I was actually a little dumbfounded that they did even try, let alone that they got it. I think I said thank you 50 times.

So the plan was to hit 180 for 4 singles. The first single was hard, it blew off my chest and had to grind the lockout. Went for the second single and failed; it felt like the strength is there and that I am grinding through fatigue. Backed off and did some reps. Not mad, since that 180 is a weight PR for Incline Bench. A deload should do this lift some good since I have been hammering that Incline angle and Overhead stuff really hard. Just going to be working some 4s and 3s on Incline for the remainder of prep.

Only paid 65 USD for the bar and collars. I just happened across it on facebook marketplace late last night
