Training Athletes

Wasn’t quite sure were to post this, but I figured CT would have a good answer.

First, how important is lateral movements/lateral explosion for athletes.

Second, what are your favorite lateral movements for athletes if you think there important.

Finally, this sounds ridiculous, but do any top level athletes use Bosu balls, such as jumps onto a Bosu, squats, push-ups ect… My teacher seems to think that Bosu balls are an effective way for athletes to train I disagree wholeheartedly with him.
