Im sure there must have been an article or study done but unfortunately I couldn't find it.
I was speaking to this young personal trainer and he reckons that if your form is right, then no matter how heavy or how long you train for (as in years) you won't get any problems such as arthritis in later life. he then proceeded to recite a text book on how muscles form and how bones, and that bodybuilders will actually have a less chance of getting arthritis etc. I see him to be one of these young guys that thinks he knows a lot of things because he knows a lot of theory.
my question is, surely lifting/pressing/pushing up to say 200kg of weights across your whole body will surely come back to bite you in some form or another even if your form is perfect???
do middle aged/retired body builders have these sorts of problems?
