Training after a layoff

Hello, I will be resuming weight training after a long layoff (over a year).
Does anybody have any thoughts or advice?
I’ll be doing something along these lines: very light weight for 2-3 sets, hitting 8-10 exercises, 5 days this week and 5 next week. Little rest betw sets. After that, I figure slowly increase the poundage every week and slowly decrese the sets and training days until I’m back to about 1-2 sets per lift, 3x a week. (My first cycle will be HIT style)
Any thoughts on how fast I should start adding weight?
Any other tips?

Obcviously, I will have to stretch diligently, and be prepared for some muscle soreness.

Let me know!
