TOP SUPPLEMENTS

Okay let’s do it again. I really don’t consider protein powder and fish oil supplements as I eat these pretty much like food.

TT?

I consider my staple supplements to be my Surge and I know you don’t count them but I would have to also include a good protein powder, EFA’s and Flax seed oil.

GD, a 3-a-day multi has always been first on my list!

Following that, I like r-ALA for its antioxidant regeneration capabilities. It’s also good for the liver (which plays a key role in far too many biological/phsiological processes for me to list!) I also like r-ALA for its insulin-mimicking ability/capability. You asked, and yes, it does a magnificent job in that regard. I don’t think a refeed should be done without it!

From there I like my MSM. It’s so darn cheap, and I’ve written on it extensively. Along the same lines, I do supplement with some glucosamine sulfate. I don’t have joint problems, but considering that I lift, I don’t see a need to wait until I DO have a problem.

After that, since my protein intake is higher than the general population, I take something to keep homocysteine levels in check. I alternate between TMG and a good B6/B12/folic acid combo.

Finally, I like stuff for brain function; phosphatydlcholine and phosphatydlserine and L-Tyrosine. I love providing the brain chemisty substrates required for mental alertness. Coffee, stimulants, and ECA stacks tend to cause the body to secrete adrenaline, whether or not it has all of what it needs in reserve to respond and can cause you to run dry/low (being non-techie, here). Stimulant (over)use can cause you to become depleted and run down. Once again, insurance on my part.

I take other supps. Heck, they all sound wonderful. But I think the trick is to take things that prevent those diseases or conditions to which you have a genetic predisposition (breast cancer or cardiovascular disease, as examples) or that help you achieve your goals, whatever those might be. You don’t want to be taking a hundred pills a day.

Wow. That is a lot.

Mutlimins, fish oils, and vitamin C are major supplements for me…

I’m far too ignorantly cynical when it comes to the supplement market.

dessicated liver tablets & aminos

dessicated liver tablets & aminos ?

You gotta be kidding I about gave myself an Ulcer on that stuff!

Man, you guys use lots of supplements. I don’t really have a ‘top’ list, but this is what I use.

It is.

I know at the very least that Sport Nutrition Depot sells it.
