To me the point is that many people expect someone in Tim’s position to be perhaps a little less, well, enthusistic (even though I do tend to agree that it may be merited). Because we’ve all seen the Bill Phillips type of hype too often there is a tendency for a knee-jerk “oh heck here we go again” response to be the result. Also, however carefully you phrase your statements, some people will fail to read them correctly or appreciate the nuances and we get the interpretation that “Patterson’s giving us a Bill Phillips feels like Deca piece of hype” when in fact he’s probably being totally honest. The recent suggestion to use Androsol for a cold is a case in point. What to do about it? Damned if I know. He sure as hell has my sympathy, not that he needs it.
