I appreciate your argument, but I have to disagree:
In 1933, Hitler started taking apart the democratic structures (including its democratic parties) of the Weimar Republic and started preparing for war. He created laws to push out jews from public service, universities. First book burnings start, and massive censorship starts.
In 1934 he installs the infamous Volksgerichtshof (?The people?s court?) that was responsible for massive persecution of anyone who did (even peacefully) protest against the nazi-state, while financing for the war gets under way. After clearing up the more socialist parts in his nationalsocialist party (murder of Ernst R?hm), he takes over the role of president and leader, effectively being president and chancellor in one person ? ending the process of separation of powers.
In 1935 he officially confesses having breached the Versailles Contract by installing a conscription army and building up an air force. The Nuremberg Race Laws are installed, cementing prosecution of minorities and enabling later mass killings.
In 1936 German troops march into the Rhineland and Hitler decides to support the francist side in the Spanish civil war. Democratic elections have been replaced by rigged plebiscites.
1937 sees the official note to the Wehrmacht to prepare for war. Internally artists, the churches, everyone who dissents basically is persecuted, and many people just disappear.
In 1938 marches into Austria (not entirely unwelcome, but still an act of aggression), he releases a secret order to destroy Czechoslovakia. Jewish people are pushed out of public life, their assets are ceased and the ?Reichskristallnacht? (a night of pogroms with many Jewish casualties) is staged.
That is a lot of damage, even before the war. It is a misconception that, if Hitler did not just go to war, it would not have been bad - it was pretty bad, even without the war.
As for similarities between B&H - I have to admit (and I am not a Bush-fan), that Bush is nowwhere near Hitler. I am still pretty worried about his policies, but I think a comparison is not fair. And for the Irak/Poland questions: The US have not started to systematically kill thousands of Iraquies in camps.
Besides, I think we should judge Bush by his actions, not a history he does not have any connection to.

Fact I: Hitler when he was imprisoned, after the failed Beer Hall Munich Putch, wrote Mein Kampf, My Struggle. Where in the book he spells out for all, what he set out to do. Hitler wanted to rid the world of the problems the world face. He wanted to create a perfect world rid of Jew’s and anyone not the Aryan race. Europe was just a stepping stone to create a larger army and a greater amount of people to back his cause so he could take on America and acually beat us. A book by the way that was banned in the US.
FACT II: Poland from 1797-1918, did NOT even exist as a country! She was divded into three sections by Napoleon.
She was divided between, the Russians, Germans, and Austo-Hungarians. YOu take for example my Great Great Grandparents that came from the Novwy Targ secion of Poland. We have letters from my Great Great Granmother which state Novwy Targ Galacia…Meaning they were in the Austrian section. Never did it say Poland.
Fact III: In 1918, with the Armistance, ending World War I, Poland ever sice 1797, BECAME a FREE country! SHe had no dictator, As a leader. The people were thrilled to once and all be free…
Fact IV: Direct Words from Adolf Hitler: After invading Czechoslovakia Hitler made a claim for Poland.
“We demand the return to us of the Polish corridor, which is like a flesh cut from our body. It cuts Germany in two. It is a national wound that bleeds continuously and will continue to bleed until it is returned to us.” t This is because the Gdansk territory, in Polish possession since the Versailles Treaty, was separating Eastern Prussia and Germany. therefore, when Hitler demanded that Poland renounce Gdansk (also called Danzig) and Poland refused, this provided Germany the perfect reason to invade Poland.
Fact V On March 31st 1939, Chamberlain announced in a crowded House of Commons that if Poland was in any type of a threat of invasion, Britain and France would come to their aid. An Anglo-Polish treaty of Alliance was under preparation and Britain also included Rumania, Greece and Turkey under their protection. Though angered and surprised, Hitler was not deterred by this treaty. He commanded his generals to ready their troops and prepare for an attack no later than September 1st. Hitler’s aim was to start “a war with sudden, heavy blows and gaining rapid successes.”
Fact VI: On May 22nd 1939, Hitler and Mussolini signed the “Pact of Steel” in Berlin which “bound each country to come to the others aid immediately.” ) “Hitler was convinced that the effect of the treaty would be to isolate Poland by weakening the British and French resolve to come to her aid.”
Fact VII The Non- Aggression Pact of 1939 was signed in August with a secret agenda between Stalin and Hitler. In the public’s eye, it was a shock to see two old enemies shake hands, but the secret agenda consisted of Eastern Europe. Soviet Union would have the Baltic states of Eastern Europe as long as she remained true to the Pact whereas Germany would have Western Europe. Now a war was inevitable with Russia in a neutral corner as it seen from a public’s point of view. One month later, the Germans invade Poland and Russia takes her piece: the Baltic States.
Fact IX: Sept 1, 1939 Hitler invades Poland . And I been to Poland last year. You have NO NO NO idea what Hitler did to the people of Poland. Do you realize that 78% of the city of Warsaw was totally destroyed burnt to the ground in the Warsaw uprising? They showed literally no mercy to the people of Poland. He destroyed everything and anything. No regard for their past, their History. Do you realize that there is not one family in Warsaw today that was not affected by either the Germans or the Nazis?
Fact IX: An Aryan is: In the Nazi ideology, the pure, superior Germanic (Nordic, Caucasian) race… Therefore… IF you where not of this race…You were considered to be subhuman. And therefore you deserve to be treated as subhumans. Taken from Mein Kampf, "

In the book Hitler believed that the Aryan are supreme race because results of art, science, and technology are their products. Also Hitler believed that the lower race can survive under the rule of the superior race, however Hitler believed that the Jews are involved in conspiracy, which does not allow the superior race to rule. Hitler also in Mein Kampf gave reasons for military conquests, because the Aryans are allowed to acquire more land space, Lebensraum. Therefore these are his reasons to invade Poland…
SO this would mean, if you were not of the Geramic Nordic race, you were subhuman.
SO let me end with this, would you BE HERE today, and alive, IF Adolf Hitler was the leader of our coutnry??? For If you showed just ONE little spec of not being a pure Aryan, OR even had some non Aryan blood in your family’s history. For they would trace your families roots, In the eyes of Hitler and the Nazis… YOU WERE SUBHUMAN!!!

I was just joking around, but Hitler was a very important figure in the 20th century and he accomplished a ton in a short amount of time. At least some history discussion and presentation resulted from those “afunny” pictures. I always hate making fun of grammer and spelling, for fear I will make some stupid mistakes and look like an ass.

happy to read that you were joking. Sure was Hitler an important figure. My point was, that he achieved a lot in a short time - just nothing really good. Being German, and having grown up with my parent’s childhood stories of hunger and despair, I just could not leave the “great leader” stuff uncommented. Enjoyed the discussion though.

I am not here to correct your grammer, above all people. I have one of the worst grammer on here. I have liked to think that I have improved w/ my grammer over the years.
This fourm has helped me to do that. People, liked Patricia, DocT, and other past forum writers have critizied my “stupity” for not using proper English or spelling errors.
I hope I have changed and improved on that.

Believe me I have learned that over the years that I been with this forum.

Why hasn’t anyone mentioned other great leaders from the same time? America had FDR, who stands to be one of the best, in my opinion, having taken the US out of its recession, tried to make a great country at a time which was plagued by hardships all over the world. More impressive than a savage pig like Hitler. N.B. I am not a Jew, but I still hate him. Thank God for D-Day and the allies who freed the world and gave us all a chance to live freely.

There are a lot of people who are not big fans of the welfare programs FDR instituted.
There are a lot of people who are offended by FDR’s attempts to stack the Supreme Court with more than 9 members.
There are a lot of people who believe FDR allowed the attack on Pearl Harbor to happen in order to jump start the economy.
