To Yolk Or Not To Yolk?

What is the consensus on egg yolks?

Should I eat them?

What is their fatty acids profile?

thanks,

Eat them…they are healthy, ESPECIALLY the yolk…

…and especially the “Omega-3” eggs who’s n-6 to n-3 profile is more “ideal”…

Here is a good breakdown and discussion:

Raising your own chickens assuming you know how to feed them properly to improve the ratio of omega 3:6 are the best. You will know by the color of the yolk, i think orange is the healthiest while yellow, i guess light ones are the least healthiest ones (commerical eggs). Maybe going to local farms might be even better if they feed chickens the right way.

There is NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT CHOLESTEROL!

what ratio are we talking about for omega 3 eggs? I’ve seen some eggs promoting to have healthy omegas but when I took closer look, it showed something like this " 200mg omega 3 and 1100mg omega 6s". What’s the best ratio we can achieve in the yolks? I know that for optimum health, it’s 1:1 but at least 4:1 of omega 6s to 3s in any cases for any kind of health benefits. I gues we can improve the ratio by taking in fish oils which would work well as we need saturated fat to maximium assilmation of omega 3 in the body.
