How does one determine if they are knowledgeable enough to have an opinion?
jnd, I’m saying that AvoidsRoids was not LITERALLY making that determination. He was being rhetorical. The “knowledge” he was talking about is emotional knowledge. It’s visceral experience, which he was reminding us can make a person look at things quite differently. AvoidsRoids can correct me, but I’ve enumerated the substantive points I thought he made, and neither of them have to do with anyone not having a right to an opinion about Vietnam.
