Tips for Tug-A-War

This weekend at my college there is a massive tug-a-war that me and my weightlifting team are joining for the 3rd time. First time we won, last year we lost, this year its on! We are all bigger and stronger, so it should be a great showing by RIT Weightlifting.

That being said; any tips, pointers from the T-Nation crowd?

We are already planning to coordinate pulls “1,2,3 pull!”

thoughts?

and yes…the ground and rope will be HIGHLY muddy…and hard to get good ground/grip!

Are there regulations on footwear?

It goes without saying, but remember to push with your feet - not pull with your arms

no footwear reg’s

we are all wearing workboots. i wore sneakers last year and slipped out of them.

cleats, wear football cleats. high top football cleats tapped up at the ankle.
thats if you all can buy new shoes which I guess that depends on how bad you want this.

workboots are heavy and you still slide in the mud
if they do not tell you what to or what not to wear that is.

traction is key in these kinds of things.
