Time Travel Shopping

If you could use a time machine but ONLY to get discontinued/older versions of products what would you get?

For me:

Ocean Pacific T shirts.

Doc Savage and The Shadow pulps. I’d love to see what those things looked like when they were new.

Coca-Cola when it had cocaine in it.

MD6

Any original muscle car its first year of production (preferably the 1st ever). Camaro, Mustang, etc…Any of them.

Oh yeah I forgot about cars!

these grey hanes pocket t-shirts they used to make. The material and fit was awesome but they don’t make them like that anymore.

Every rookie card of every major sports figure

Every first edition comic book

Thompson sub-machine gun and all preban ak-47’s

and I’d hook up with Marilyn Monroe (She is considered discontinued right?)

My choice is kind of weird, but I would choose RectorSeal® AIR-LOCK® 181 Water-Based Duct Sealant.

Commodore 64

Guns

This blue and white striped polo shirt I had that got all ripped up

Porn mags I used to have and tons of other ones I never got to look at the inside of just the covers because I wasn’t 18 yet

Brooks Brothers clothing and luggage

Are we assuming we have like Today’s dollars when we hit the old days? So…in other words are we rich and can buy anything or are we on our current budget?

Dungeons and Dragons Player’s Handbook, Dungeon Master’s Guide and Monster Manual and every DRAGON magazine and tons of modules and basically all my D&D stuff I threw away.

Macdonald’s fries back when they were good.

Black Cat gum.

U.S.Tops jean jacket.

Kawasaki Triple, 500 or 750, as long as it’s an H2.

Case of Blue in the old stubby bottle.

Like…if I was rich I’d buy a boat load of wine…if I wasn’t rich I’d just with I could buy it.

Is any of that stuff worth anything today?

I had boxes of Bobby Orr swag, uncut sheets of team cards, signed glamour photos etc. My father fished with an Orr family friend every year and after every trip he would bring stuff home to me.

I sold it all in HS to buy other…stuff lol.

If you don’t know who Bobby Orr is may God have mercy on your soul

I don’t think so…my neighbor sold his collection of DRAGON mags for like 50 bucks for issues going back to like #5 or something…he said he could’ve got more if he broke up the collection and sold them individually because I guess like some old, fat nerd somewhere doesn’t have Issue X so he’s willing to pay 20 bucks for it.

I actually found about 200 playboys in a landfill one time…they were in good condition in a couple of boxes…had just been thrown out…took them home and put them in the attic…about ten years later I looked into selling them…you get like 10 - 50 cents for them unless you have like an original issue #1

Cookies-n-Creme Twix. Probably the best candy bar ever made.

DDT, Diazanon and the other various pesticides that actually worked, but that were banned due to junk science.

I agree, the young son of one of my best friends died of Malaria (in Chad, Africa) and DDT would virtually eradicate Malaria.

I would have bought Canada for a case of Jack Daniels and a few shiny trinkets from the fur traders.

established myself as emperor, and ruled them all with an iron fist.

I would have had a harem of the Canadian snow bunnies, rotating monthly and would have made a killing in the oil sands.

oh - and I would have bought some apple and Microsoft stock back in '78.

Baseball cards
Cars - pre-war cars, and muscle cars (each model would have largest motor possible)
Stocks - duh
Art work from living artist at the time

The farther back you go, the more valuable things will be in present. (civil war era guns, documents from the revolution, coins from the middle ages, shit from the roman empire, etc.)
