Thoughts on Probiotics?

@lord_humongous Organic unpasturised Greek yogurt is a great source of probiotics. Just avoid Greek ‘style’ yogurts that have been pasturised as that kills off all the beneficial bacteria.

Because even the best (read: least processed) greek yogurt brands are only bringing 4-5 different cultures to the party.

Contrasted with the 12 different species listed on a bottle of kefir from Trader Joe’s, for example.

Plain greek yogurt is still a great food choice (imo), but I’ll say that’s more about its protein content than its probiotics punch.

EDIT - and as clobbasaurus just mentioned, there’s a growing number of greek yogurt “desserts” of all kinds of flavors nowadays. And I wouldn’t expect much value at all from those.
