Does anybody have any good exercises to thicken the midsection specifically the area between the obliques and the the lats. I already do deadlifts, squats and compound movements. I also try and hit the area with russian twists, saxon side bends etc but it doesnt seem to get more solid. Any ideas?
My core is wide due to having a short torso. And as soon as I begin gaining weight, I get that “blocky” look.
Stick with the basics and keep hitting them. It’ll help build up your obliques and core. And of course, keep them heavy. Dumbbell side bends, Russian twists, deadlifts, squats, rows, etc.
How about bent presses? check out Coach Davies artical called real abs. They are a killer.
