Thermogenic Effect of Food/Shakes

Hello All,
I read T-Nation articles everyday, just do not post much. Simple question regarding the thermic effect of food. When trying to lose some lbs and eating more frequently I am using about 2 shakes per day, with varied protein/fat amounts. Does a shake have the same thermic effect as regular food?

In short yes the shake will have the same effect of eating whatever the source of Protein is in the shake.

Ex. Grow! Being a mix of milk-derived proteins with a learge amount of that being casein it will digest like well milk high in Casein. or Cottage cheese.

If its an egg based shake, it would be just the same as egg in its digestion.

Now will it digest like a T-Bone No.
