Theft/Police Report Question

Last night my bike roof rack was stolen. There’s a couple options for filing the police report and I’m not sure what it falls under. Either Theft (which doesn’t include stuff taken from car), Vandalism (car was scratched to take it off), or Vehicle Burglary (loose item property stolen from vehicle).

Which do you guys think it falls under? The rack wasn’t taken from inside the car, but outside, and there was vandalism. Thanks for the help.

There are more options than the three. depending on where you live. Fill out the statement and the officer who takes the report will put the crime on his report most fiiting for your sisuation. (if you live in the USA.)

Just call the cops ( non emergency number )and tell them what happened and they’ll fill out and file it appropriately.
