The Worst Pain I've Ever Felt

Damn, it’s crazy how common this seems to be. I get slightly constiped every now and then, I just cut down on junk and eat more veggies.

I do feel like I have something that just won’t come out though.

Just when I was starting to take this thread seriously.

My stepson has Ehlers Danlos syndrome which is a connective tissue disorder and he is prone to constipation as well. Early on before we knew all of this he had pain so bad as you are describing and when they did the x-ray the Dr’s said you could see the crap.

I’ve now been making a bigger effort than before to get him more veggies. He used to take Miralax every other day now he’s had no problems for months so we’ve cut it out completely. Hope this helps.

Of course go with what everyone else said about seeing a specialist. But that appointment could be weeks away, you can buy Miralax OTC.

I know! That was a close one, huh?

I thought I had something like that, and years later I had to get a hernia repair surgery. The lower abdominal pain was my abdominal wall slowly tearing open. I suspected constipation, but was crapping daily so that was out. I then suspected gas, and farting lessened it temporarily but the pain would return very soon.

Those mentions of sodium are interesting, and I never would have thought of that. Thanks!

I had testicular torsion, so fuck off.

Couldn’t resist.

Make an appt. with a colon-rectal surgeon. You never know what could be wrong. I had an adhesion from a previous surgery strangulate a portion of my colon.

In came on slowly over the course of a week. Worst pain ever. Anyway, better safe than sorry. Get yourself checked out and best of luck to you.

Gut motility (peristalsis) is regulated by acetylcholine. No ACh and you wont get any motility. Too much ACh and it staying at the neuromuscular junction and not being removed (i.e via acetyl-cholinesterase) would mean one giant constant spasm and once again, no motility.

Are you on any acetyl-choline esterase inhibitors, muscarinic receptor antagonists, depolarising or non-depolarising blocker / any other muscle relaxant? Any nootropics, such as galantamine which make use of ACh as a memory stimulant?

Do you have a decent diet? i.e are you getting any ACh, say from Macedamia / brazil nuts?

All i can think of if you’ve got the fiber/water shit worked out.

Else it could be a problem with just about anything. If you’ve had a GP tell you to just keep upping your fiber and its still there, thats when you march yourself to a specialist and ask them to start checking for more crazy movie-stlye shit, like a tumour of your IV disk compressing your myenteric plexus

Have you tried sticking it in the pooper?

Whilst I subscribe to this concept in theory ACh is about the most ubiquitous neurotransmitter in the body, as it is readily synthesised in the soma of neurons and is, anyway, reuptaken at the synaptic end bulb, rather than being completely broken down.

In other words, an ACh deficiency is rare and would likely not be isolated to the smooth muscle of the gut, but to smooth muscle everywhere as well as skeletal muscle tissue.

I have though, wondered about huperzine A, which is an ACh-esterase inhibitor, and it’s effects on gut motility, since I use it as a nootropic. I think it unlikely that hupA and other diestary supps which act on ACh-E enzyme would be far too mild to generate the kind of effect you are talking about.

I could be wrong though, of course.

Incidentally, diabetics are susceptible to an immotile gut, due to nerve pathology.

Nerd War!

You could try Fleet enema, they can work sometimes. You could try going to the E.R and they’ll probably give you a soap and suds enema. If it’s really bad they might give you GO-Lytly, it’s what they use to clean you out before you’d get a colonoscopy (where they put the camera up your butt)

The worst case scenario would be that a surgeon would have to perform an colostomy. But if a GI doctor recommends this, please get a second opinion cause the last thing you want is to shit out of your stomach the rest of your life.

If you want instant relief though, I would strongly recommend taking milk and molasses. I would say start off with 2 oz of milk and 2 oz of molasses mix it up, (you can also start of with 4oz milk, 4oz molasses if you wish, but i’d start small and i’d up the dosage gradually as long as you got problems.)

Heat it up in the microwave for 45 sec to a minute, but make sure its warm not hot, you could damage your colon if its to hot.

There are a couple of ways you can put it up your ass. You could buy an enema kit, which should be located at a medical supplies store. If you can’t find one, you could get from from the E.R (or ask if they would do it for you.

Another way is to use the empty bottles from the fleet enemas that works well too. If you do decide to use empty fleet enema bottles though, do not put those in the microwave to heat up the milk/molasses, it’ll break, heat the stuff up in a seperate bowl.

When its in you try to hold the milk/molasses in for 15 to 20 mins and then you will be taking the most violent and wonderful shit you probably had ever taken, so be near or on a toliet.

I know this sounds crazy but my girlfriend had this happen to her and luckily her docter is one of those that isn’t try to find a way to milk her insurance. If you looked this up online it would tell you to mix 16oz of each. you can do this too but I’d recommend starting off small. Plus if you do the 16/16, you’ll be up for two days.

This would be your cheapest and best option in my opinion. I’ve never heard of milk and molasses not working. Good luck and hang in there.

I cranked out Ex-Lax yesterday, but it’s only helped marginally. Last night was probably one of the worst nights of my life. I need to find out how the hell to A.) prevent this from happening and why the pain is so intense [/quote]

The way you can prevent this is so consume lots of veggies, lima beans, or any kind of beans will help your digestive system.

Causes of this can vary. Basically what happens when you become constipated is that you colon either has absorbed to much water or the muscle contractions are slow and sluggish which makes the shit move to slow through the colon, so the result is that it hardens and then it just keeps collecting.

That’s why the pain is so intense, all that waste needs to come out but it had no where to go, so things get expanded in there, can push on the organs, can push on the bladder causing problems there.

Now for you personally, there could be problems inside, that’s for your doctor to find out, or there could be no problems.

Maybe you consumed to much milk and you waited to long to consume fiber. medications can cause constipation, not enough liquids, etc. If it turns out that you are having muscle contraction problems, the doctor might perscribe you a stimulant, such as senokot. Or you could just buy that.

But i’d try the milk/molasses first and then see if you would need that afterwards, cause right now, you need to get that shit out of you.

Hi Mate,

This is worth a visit to the docs, to discuss.
