Really, you can stop me at any time…

I just wanted to add rocks. These are common yet lethal according to stone age records. Carry on.

The US murder rate in 1993 was 9.93 per 100,000. Of these, 7.07 per 100,000 are due to guns. 39% of homes had guns. In France, the homicide rate was only 1.12 deaths per 100,000. Guns are more commonly lethal than rocks. Feel free to finder newer numbers, they will probably show a similar trend. It a lot harder for most people to kill with rocks, bare hands, round house kicks, etc.

I am not advocating revoking the 2nd Amendment, but I am pointing out that we are paying for this right with tens of thousands of homicides every year.

Obama is the Lebron of politics. Let’s hope he plays in the big leagues like him! At least McLame and that Moran from Wasilla can go back to being regular Joe’s. hahahaha

Can we trade him? Maybe we can trade him to Ireland straight up for the folks who realized the genius of cutting the corporate income tax over there.
Pure genius! Trading politicians. I love it. This idea would make politics really interesting. I wonder what we could get for one lame duck president?

nothing…I coughed.

Instead of the politics and world issues section, could we just rename this to “Republicans Only, we won’t listen to anyone else’s thoughts”?

This entire section of the website is really sad due to the closed mindedness of 90% of you (I am not just referring to this thread; the comment about the constitution was indeed dumb).

I don’t even align with the Democrats (I’m a ticket splitter) but the over conservative attitude on here is nuts, especially when some of you liberally interrupt the laws when it comes to your bodybuilding “supplements”.

Higher taxes arent going to fix anything either. If anything they will makes things worse.

You DO know that the Second Amendment was only ever made so American citizens could protect themselves from British forces in the 1700’s, right? To say that the Amendment has lost all of its true meaning and merit is a huge understatement. I hope we see some gun reformation laws and all of their lobbyist supporters (see: NRA) squirm in their seats.

Remember, guns don’t kill people, people kill people. With guns.
Uh no, it was created so that a people can protect themselves from an out of control government. So that a armed government cannot strong arm and unarmed population. Do some research…

P.S. I like your avatar…

You’re waay off base…“my friend.” According to PWI’s young gunner, dhickey…the majority of posters here are open minded libertarians. I’d like to agree with him…but its really hard to…when he’s wrong.

From the selfish perspective of a non American, I am relieved that McCain lost.

Personally I believe that the US economy is in an extremely unhealthy situation, and regardless of which party is in control, things will get nasty over the next few years. If John McCain had won, I have no doubt that everything would be blamed on 12 years of “free market policies”. Regardless of how much government interference was present during that time, I have no doubt that capitalism would take the blame.

This situation could then easily be used by politicians to justify further government intervention in other countries, including my own. Fuck, my countries prime minister has already declared that the financial crisis was caused by “excessive capitalism”.

The problem is that if you are as ignorant as most people are, it sounds like a reasonable argument.

edit - When I wrote “government intervention in other countries”, I meant by their own governments, not the US.

Why do socialist from other countries have to comment on our election. We are the most badass nation on the planet but stay out of our business.
Kenya having a national holiday because Obama won.
Ridiculous.
Next time something horrible happens to anther county I am going to throw a party.

Cha-ching.

I only supported McCain because his presidency would only be about half as bad as Obama’s is going to be. (And actually I didn’t even vote for McCain.)

If taxes are still raised, it will only deepen the recession, and slow the recovery. When taxes go up, people take actions that reduce the tax implications. Such as tax exempt bonds, and keeping profits on paper.

As tax burdens lighten, people are less likely to take actions to avoid taxes. So this is one of the reasons tax revenue jumped when Bush cut taxes.

Now if he gets his programs through, we will see the national debt skyrocket, making people remember the Bush years as a frugal time.

The might spin it to make it look like the cause was Bush. (Just like they are now.) But the results are going to be a big shift to the right.

I think it will be very unlikely that Obama gets re-elected.
I was voted to prevent Obama anyway I could…In hindsight I was wrong about Hillary, I’d prefer her over Obama. This guy has no record to speak of, just a bunch of speeches that lack substance. We have nothing to go on with this guy except for hope and change. Whooptie do, what is that suppose to mean? I’d like to know.
Obama’s very brief service to the country is littered with either non-action or bad voting records. Always on the wrong side.
In the end he may not be so bad so long as he does not follow through with what he said he wants to do. The chances of that happening are very high. Often situations will dictate the actions. You are just going to pull troops out of Iraq, you aren’t going to wave a wand and make the economy ok, etc. So we shall see. If he fails in his promises, he’ll be ok.

And this is why countries really want us to stay out of their business and off their lands…which is really not a bad idea,IMO.

So on what level of “horror” is Kenya having national holiday for Obama’s election?? Did we have an attack on the U.S. that we’re not aware of?..did concentration camps sprout up in Kansas? Did Obama just declare every American female his wife??

Calm the fuck down. I swear people have developed explosive diarrhea of the mouth…ridiculous shit people are saying.

Wow! Do you proudly wear the ignoramus dunce hat or what?

By that reasoning several of the other Amendments should have expired too. Including the one that gives you the right to post stupidity like this in a public forum.

Holy fuckin cow, I honestly can’t believe you are this dumb.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

You realize the first amendment only protects speech and the press, they did not know about radio or tv and their inherent dangers.

Therefore, since they could not possibly know how powerful mass media could get, we must go back to what they truly intended, protecting speech and words written on paper, and paper only.

Once someone uses a microphone or even a typewriter all bets are off.

I might allow a soapbox.

They had soapboxes in 1791, hadn´t they?
orion wrote:
<<< They had soapboxes in 1791, hadn´t they?

Yes and printing presses. If anything, the power and pervasiveness of modern media technology make the principles they were intending even more relevant and valid as long as control of them remain private.

Sand in the vagina? That’s really good. You’re probably a big fan of great comedic minds like Carlos Mencia, hm?

What a bunch of fucking hypocrisy. “I’ve not heard such whining on the political forums in quite a while.” Wow, clearly you don’t use that “reading comprehension” topic you brought up earlier, because all I see on this forum is hard right-wingers piss and moan about why they couldn’t get it right. Boo-fucking hoo, the Republican party FUCKED over our country for eight years, and you demand explanation for a country that votes PREDOMINANTLY democratic this year. This is something that people with even low-level intelligence can fathom, so get the fucking dick out of your ass and realize that this country has veen in a perpetual downspiral for the last eight years.
