Nice post buddy. Global warming is complete and total politically correct bullshit. I could go on for years about. I just wish the world would wake up and start really caring about reality rather than what’s trendy and sounds good.
The money wasted on fighting global warming could be better used fighting real environmental problems, or bettering the world in some other way.
I’ve noticed an uptick in the number of times I’ve needed to take a crap per day since the temperatures have been rising - thus Global Warming is obviously giving me the sh*ts…
Why do you all hate baby polar bears?

Bah, what do they care, they’ve got Al on their side.

I don’t get it. Are the two somewhat mutually exclusive?
It’s not like we’re building giant ice cubes to cool the planet…
Global warming is caused by baby harp seals.

If the resources being used to raise awareness and fund research for global warming were used for something practical, alternative fuels for example, we could be making a lot more progress in areas that will actually benefit a lot of people.
Instead, we’re worrying about a bogeyman.
Socialism is a colossal failure. It just does not work, and time after time capitalism is shown to work.
Oh, we were talking about global warming, why would I bring up socialism?
I find it funny how every single cure for global warming involves transfer of something from the rich to the poor, or from the rich countries to the poor countries.
Carbon credits are nothing but a shell game. We keep producing CO2, but pay countries that do not. Exactly how does this work?
Recently it was proposed that the rich countries give technology to the poor countries so they don’t have to use older, more CO2 producing equipment.
Right before all this global warming crap was so prominent, it was proposed that all the rich people, (those making $10,000 a year or more,) pay a world tax that gets transfered to the poor.
When global warming is no longer in vogue, some other problem will pop up, and it can only be cured by giving large amounts of money to the poor.

How much does it cost to “raise awareness”? How much is this so-called “research for global warming”? I’m pretty sure that it’s merely Powerpoint presentations and computers crunching data.

I am pretty sure far more money has been squandered than what it takes to make a few presentations.
Researchers see GW as a meal ticket because it is easy to get funding if it is claimed that GW is responsible for ______.

On what? Books? Computers?
I find it hard to believe that the same people who refused to sign Kyoto are forking out that much money on this thing you speak of.
If you really want to talk about wasted money, how about you stop arming both sides of a conflict in a perpetual escalation? Now THAT is “squandered” money!

Let’s see - Lixy tries to take a thread about global warming and make it about…guess what.

Quite pathetic and predictable.

Just a statement of fact. You are pathetic and predictable. Now fuck off.

I’m waiting for your rationale to squander money (and I mean BILLIONS of dollars) on arming both sides of a conflict.
In any case, research is just that: research! I can think of a lot of utterly useless (if not downright destructive) “scientific” disciplines that get more funding than the global warming crowd. Take care of those, then you may have a case against the outrageous waste of money going into trying to save the planet. Militarizing space and invading countries is NOT helping the Human race!
Damn those Chinese!
Jesus Christ, lixy, I click on this thread today and it’s taken you two posts to shift it from global warming to U.S. foreign policy!
Gee, and I thought you might actually give a shit about talking about something else, anything else for a change.
Teaches me not to ever again assume you’re anything but a one-trick pony.
Global warming is responsible for Christianity. Go(re)d told me so.
