The Stupid Thread 2 (Part 1)

Neither was Trump faced with a U.S. and World Economy; on his first day in office; that was on the brink of complete and total collapse…and the very anemic recovery that was the result.

Faced with the same crisis; Trump would have been at a rally somewhere and/or blaming the Press that it is all Fake News in attempt to make him look bad.

To me; the economy is stronger despite Trump…not because of Trump…and yes…that comment is biased because of my feeling about President Obama and all that he will never get credit for doing.

Yup. I’ve only ever heard Republicans call them that.

I agree. Trump’s actions (trade wars, etc) are of a sort that under normal circumstances might well cause a growing economy to seize up.

Can we start a movement where politicians are actual servants again?

I’m mostly Republican and I love that Trump is President. I most like the fact that he was wealthy before taking office. The Clintons and Obamas gained a lot of wealth going through the White House. I’m sure others have done the same (both parties).

I actually believe Trump cares about our country. I haven’t had many other politicians convince me of that.

Let’s implement term limits and end the lifetime benefits of politicians and see who really wants to serve and see who’s self serving.

If you don’t see this in Trump, then you never will.

You like the fact he had wealthy parents? Dude, Daddy gave him everything via an elaborate series of tax-avoidance scams for which he will likely face stiff penalties. (The only thing saving him from indictment for them is the statute of limitations.)

Trump didn’t hit a triple; he was born on third base.

Man, are you in for a shock when the Mueller report comes out.

Sorry. Wrong again.

Trump cares about the segment of the Country that agrees with him and worships at his feet.

Don’t take my word for it. Ask any number of former member’s of his Administration.

An Ego like Trump’s can be a killer…but I honestly think that he may prove smart enough to have distanced himself from any collusion…

I really do.

You mean, other than publicly requesting Russia to release Clinton’s emails?

I know I’m reaching, @EyeDentist…but I’m thinking that maybe just for a moment…Trump’s ego didn’t get in the way.

If you’re betting the under on Trump’s ego/narcissism, I’ll happily take the over.

Also, he has shown constantly that he’s actually unable to distinguish between himself and the country. The “Putin was nice to me” being the most notorious example, but it was repeated itself with Kim and now with the Saudis - they must be good because they bought condos worth 50 millions from him.

I will say this…

Anyone who chooses to run against Trump in 2020 better have their balls in a sling and all of their background divulged.

I will give it to Trump…quite frankly he doesn’t give a Shit…and believes in winning by any means possible…

He cared so much he didn’t let bone spurs stand in the way of serving in the military.

Trump got lucky in a way. Had he run against Obama he would have looked liked a fool. I actually think he fears Obama, hence all of the attacks on Hillary. If the Dems can find someone who can out alpha Trump it will look like what happened when Trump was on Letterman. Dave had some of Trump’s ties and he joked about how they were made in China. Trump just sat there like a scolded child.

This can be said for either side. Prior to Trump the Republicans sent out McCain and Romney. As a Republican I was thinking “C’mon! This is the best we have!?”

Some of the candidates really make the Bushes look good…and Clinton.

Sometimes the biggest strength is a weak opponent.

I say this in a spirit of encouragement, not condescension, and I mean that sincerely - you absolutely need to educate yourself if you believe the above is true.

There has never been a president who cares less about the public trust with which he’s been tasked or who wants to monetize his position more.

This notion that Trump is the self-made tycoon who came off the sidelines of his successful life to serve in office out of love of country to rescue it from a self-serving elite is the biggest lie ever told in American politics. Not exaggerating. And it’s not even believable, if you do even a small bit of reading.

You owe it to yourself to spend some time learning the truth. And this isn’t ideological - you can know this lie is a lie as a conservative, liberal, libertarian, socialist, whatever.

I never said he was self made - just that he was already rich. I also don’t believe he’s selfless. I’m not sure of his motivation specifically, but I know it’s ego-driven.

Without speaking to his personal accountant, I can’t say if he’s gaining or losing financially while being President. I’ve seen social media graphics showing his net worth is down, but who knows if there’s any truth to that. And if it is, it could simply be the result of him not actively managing his business opportunities. It doesn’t really matter.
