The Next President of the United States: III

[quote] Mufasa

Even though there is a long way to go…the money and the GOP seem to be aligning behind Rubio.

In terms of the Vice…American Politics has shown this to be a Strategic Move related to getting the President elected…and that goes further back than just modern (20th/21st Century) elections.

Zeb has pointed out more than once that Kasich would be a good strategic move by any nominee.

The future of the republican party belongs to someone that I have been touting for 6 months, that is Marco Rubio. While I do not put much faith in cross party polls this early Rubio does defeat Hillary Clinton repeatedly in such polls.

Remember me saying repeatedly back several election cycles, “you don’t win without the look” Cruz does not have that look. I like him and many here on T nation like him but he could very easily lose to any of the top democrats. For example, women will not vote for Cruz…shallow but true.

Rubio on the other hand is the complete package. Great look, youth, perfect family, owns the Hispanic vote. If he is the nominee he will either win the women’s vote or come close if the candidate is Hillary. If it is anyone else Rubio will most certainly own the female vote. In fact, he will win the general by a decisive margin.

I understand that some on this site do not think that he is conservative enough. But he was conservative enough to get Tea Party backing when he ran. Also, one thing I learned decades ago, that a half a loaf is better than none. Personally, I don’t want a democrat (any democrat especially Hillary) choosing our next two or maybe three Supreme Court Justices. Furthermore, once the country moves back to center right after a horrible trip with Obama over to the far left (breeding such candidates as wacko Bernie Sanders) we can then elect someone even more conservative.

Just like a football game is won in by gaining so many yards at a time so it is with politics. Let’s support someone who can actually win the general election and start to move the country further right.

Please, can we be done with this guy already?

As for Rubio’s VP pick, should he be the nominee. I did tout Kasich as you say Mufasa. Kasich brings Ohio which the republicans need to win the White House. But I wonder in order to turn out the ardent conservatives if the VP pick should be someone more conservative than Kasich. Perhaps a Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, or better yet the former Senator from Ohio his name escapes me at this time. Perhaps even a Rubio/Cruz ticket.

It must be a ticket which will motivate the ardent conservatives to get off their butts and go vote. That is the element that was missing from the Romney campaign. But I want to remind all of those folks who refuse to vote for the republican unless his views line up perfectly with their own, they helped give Obama a second term and they partially own all of the bad decisions that Obama has made over the past 7 years!

If they want Hillary to become the next President all they have to do is once again claim that the republican nominee is not quite as conservative as they’d like and stay home. Fortunately, I don’t think that we will have to suffer such a thing this time around. After a full eight years of Obama and the threat of Hillary as President I would think even the most conservative of voters will like what they see in whomever the republicans nominate.

Let’s hope intelligence wins out over stubbornness this time around.

Sloth,

Iowa gave Trump what he deserved, a loss. His star is falling and while the latest poll, taken before his Iowa defeat, shows Trump leading I think he has a great shot of losing NH. In fact, the more he whines about Cruz winning Iowa “illegally” the more New Hampshire voters will turn away from this guy and vote for someone who is not only better able to lead but just as importantly better able to actually win the general election.

Whoops, you’re right.

Odd that the top three on the GOP side all have limited experience compared to some of the governors.

We can’t get a word in with you guys!

Now that my man Rand Paul has dropped from the race, I am kind of over this until the nominations are decided. Just please…PLEASE no more Trump. He made his point by channeling all the frustrations held by some on the right, but no more.

Not odd, this year people do not want anyone who sells themselves as an insider or who has great government experience (one more reason Hillary will NOT be elected). Bernie Sanders a long time Washington insider is selling himself as the big socialist reformer and he’s doing well. Trump selling himself as the ultimate anti Washington candidate, Rubio and Cruz both selling themselves as fighters against the Washington establishment both doing well.

Now take a look at who is not doing well. Hillary Clinton with all of her money fame and experience squeaks past an old balding Socialist who looks like he’s ready for the retirement home. Granted she has other issues, but she is also selling herself as experienced and a Washington insider. Bush same scenario and add his former brother and father to the mix and he is politically speaking a dead man walking. The list goes on and on Kasich who has a number of years as a Congressman (he even worked with Reagan back in the day) a sitting Governor with tons of success and of course experience and he is doing horribly. Chris Christie same thing…how many more times do you want to hear that he was a former prosecutor (eye roll)…these clowns just don’t get it. This is the year of rebellion regarding anything that can be considered experienced or inside the beltway.

People actually don’t like Trump they like what he represents.

If Rubio or Cruz can continue to push themselves as fighting the Washington establishment one of those two guys will be the nominee. I would say Trump would be the nominee but I honestly think he’s going to wear thin…it’s already begun (or is it wishful thinking on my part?) Ha.

Gotta keep up my man!

You can’t just tell a guy who calls himself Sloth to “keep up.”

One of the problems, though, is that banning all foreign Muslims would be impossible.
