The Next President of the United States: III

Oh I’m well aware in his own mind Trump thinks he’s the most amazing person and can/should do whatever he wants. He has proven that he thinks anybody that disagrees or challenges him is terrible, stupid, and has no idea what they’re doing.

Unfortunately politics isn’t black and white. There is no way to earn the right to not be challenged.

He may be the anathema to conservatives, but what he said in this particular interview isn’t wrong in my estimation.

Let’s go through it piece by piece:

“You asked a great question [to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump], by the way. The war on women. God bless you Megyn Kelly”

So he thinks it was a great question. So do I. So do a lot of people. The “war on women” rhetoric is absurd and I don’t believe Kelly asked the question to combat said made up war, but the point, IMO, is just fine. It was a good, fair, and acceptable question.

“I feel bad for you.” And “What’s he afraid of? I’m sitting here. I don’t feel any fear. … Donald, come now, come sit beside me, I’ll hold your hand. She’s fine.”

Again, I agree. There’s no reason Donald Trump, who aspires to be the next POTUS, can’t answer questions from Kelly. If he thinks her questions aren’t fair he can caller her on them just like Cruz did in the MSNBC (or CNN don’t remember) debate.

"Moore ended the interview with, ‘And before I leave, I just want to say again, Roger Ailes, Rupert Murdoch, it’s pp to get elected president in this country, you have to come on this network. You have to play ball with this network. Donald Trump today said I’m not playing ball with this network. That’s a historic moment, and it’s going to be interesting to see where the real power is. Trump thinks he doesn’t need Fox News. I think Fox News probably has something else to say about that. And it’ll be interesting to see where do the powers that be go with this?’”

This is just a statement of his opinion. I don’t agree but has nothing to do with him being a crazy liberal.

The he talks about Obama some.

Then he says this:

“When asked if there were any Republican candidates he would get behind, Moore responded, ‘I would get behind all of them and take them — and push them somewhere.’ He added, ‘[M]y grandfather was the head of the Republican Party in the town that I grew up in. And — yes, but back then, a conservative meant that you conserved your money, you had family values, you had — you conserved the earth, the air, the water, God’s gifts to us. That’s what Republicans believed back then, and those days seem to be gone. I know it’s hard for Republicans who have those feelings, and they have nowhere really to go right now.’”

I gotta say, I agree with this too for the most part. I doubt we fully agree on the extent of environmental conservation, but I would love to conserve our environment as long as it does not place an undue burden on private citizens.

I don’t really see where he sided with Kelly other than to say it was a good question. I’m actually surprised at his comments frankly.

I agree, I said that above, and I think it is telling about his supporters.

Breitbart is being incredibly unbiased…

You might be right, but on the flipside, it is also driving people out of the party. I, for one, have left the party specifically because of Trump and his mindless supporters. I’ll probably still vote R more often than not, but if a sensible Democrat ran for office on say fiscal responsibility, deficit cutting, balancing the budget, etc… He/she could easily earn my vote.

I’ve got no problem with them being bias. No problem at all. I just think it’s a bit hypocritical to come out and say Fox News Worse than Liberal Media to Donald Trump when the publication, in general, has favored Trump for quite some time now.

I mean, I’ve seen Hannity fawn all over Trump a number of times. O’Reilly obviously disagrees with a lot of what Trump says but has shown a lack of backbone when Trump has been on at least the few times I’ve seen him on. I’ve seen Trump on Fox & Friends being treated just fine. I’m not able to catch The Five most days, but when they’ve talked about Trump it has always been fair. Even Greta, Cavuto, and Bartiromo have treated him perfectly fine and frankly so has Kelly. I mean, it’s kind of outlandish to say they’re treating him worse.

I might have to actually watch that. I’ve been engrossed in Leon Panetta’s (I know an evil Democrats) biography as of late though.

You never know. I would of never thought a celebrity and a socialist would be legitimate candidates for President so maybe we’ll come full circle back to logic one day.
