Bummer.
Actually a little saddened by this. I usually don’t care one way or another about celebrities and ‘famous’ folks, but I actually liked the Monkees quite a bit.

My father (who was active in radio) always called them the “Pre-Fab Four.”
But, he also pointed out that the Beatles actually hung out with the Monkee members, and a number of Monkees played instruments/sang backup in studio for the Beatles, both before and after becoming famous on their own.
They were arguably better musicians than the Beatles; just not better song writers.
now maybe I may have a chance with Marsha.

LOL!
I don’t understand these old jokes but I did like the music.
My sister and I saw The Monkees when they first showed in the 60’s. Love the comedy. My sister became a hopeless Monkemaniac. Back in the 90’s, she got the complete VHS set of the episodes. We spent about 2 full days just watching - great stuff! (I made the mistake of trying to touch the tapes and got my hand slapped!)
“So, Mister Jones, what do you look for in a girl?”
“Oh, that depends on what I’ve lost . . .”
“Will the real Davy Jones please stand up!”
“I am standing up.”
And great music, too.
DEAR LORD NOOOOOO!!!
WHY COULDN’T IT HAVE BEEN PHIL COLLINS??????
