Go ahead. Your tits are perky. I don’t even have to lift my shirt up anymore to flash mine.
FWIW, I do pee squirts on deadlifts. The other ladies in my age bracket have ‘pads for power lifters’ with them at all times. It’s a niche market.
Do they have a website and mail order??

I’ve asked this before
WHAT TITS ?

Me too. Standing invite.

I think Yo Mamma said it, “The fountain of youth is in a very heavily loaded barbell.”

methinks I never wanna grow up, and I’ll make my best effort to never grow old either.

/rant + hijack
That is my new favorite quote. Don’t look for it cross-stitched on a sampler, though.

My only regret about all this weight training induced leaning-out, is that my 32Bs are now 32As. So, I sort of resemble that remark.

Hi, 44…wow!! Putting us young 'uns to shame…ok, not-so-young-uns.
Good job on the Bench press, that’s one lift I’m yet to tackle.
Looking forward to following your log.

Jeezus H. Christ! 44 is NOT old!!! Now 84?? Maybe that would be a “wow”.
It is precisely this type of age related mentality and stereotyping that stops people from doing things because they think they’re too old. You’re never too old to lift. Or rock and roll, for that matter.

Sorry for the rant, OP. I get cranky in my old age.

Keep up the good work.
cranky but we like it that way.

seriously Yo Momma, wtf? skyel never said anything about old. Nor was it implied. Its always surprising, and admirable, to see someone beyond the common age of narcissism (18-30, imo) pursue something so totally fulfilling.

I’ll admit that I was also surprised to hear that Kimba was 44. the look of her pics and tone of her posts seemed younger.

while im confessing it took me a long time to figure out your age as well.

the bottom line is that the only numbers that matter on here, are the ones printed on the plates.

LOL! I must change my avatar to a “my little pony”.

CBear - I always appreciate your opinion and observations. I’ve never been to a show - only looked at the results and figured out there’s no rhyme or reason. I’ve also encountered that in martial arts and it’s far worse to have to explain to a child why they lost when even they can see it wasn’t right.

So, for me the judging doesn’t matter - I just want to see if I can do the dieting, puttting on another 10-15 pounds, and get over the bikini thing. Interestingly enough I have zero hangups on being nude around a boyfriend. I revel in it, but bikinis in public - WTF?! I’m weird.

As for age, black belt is for 36, the show pony routine is for 37, and a half marathon is for 40. Ideas for 38 and 39 welcomed.

PS Sorry Kimba for continuing the hijack. This is a great log.

bikini for 38 and soft core porn for 39.

Now that is a great way to start out my day. Thanks, CBear.

What about a powerlifting meet? That sounds intriguing. Or perhaps a 100-mile bike ride, which I’ve done a number of times and always feels like a worthy accomplishment.

There is no such thing as a hijack! I’m here for the company, not the workout-recordkeeping.

I approve of this log.

Thanks PMPM. I’m happy to be here.

Yesterday’s workout: the hill ride, 1 hr 43 min. of moderate effort cycling.

Today’s workout was with the trainer-guy. Essentially, I pay him to kick my ass for an hour harder than I can kick it myself. Here are the highlights:

Back Squat
70# 1 x 10 reps
95# 1 x 10 reps
120 1 x 10 reps
125 1 x 5 reps (PR!!!)

I took a long rest before the PR attempt and that really paid off for me. The weight felt heavy, but in control - no squat-mornings. Got to keep up with Arachne.

Incline Bench Press
55# 1 x 10 reps
55# 1 x 7 reps
50# 1 x 5 reps

I haven’t done incline bench with a barbell in recent memory, so have no previous numbers in my log for this lift. As always, my best attempt on bench of any variety is in the first set. Then I just die. Maybe I need more rest between sets?

Dips - 17 reps of good, full-ROM. That is 7 more than I’ve squeezed out previously so I’m happy.

Walking lunges and side-to-side lunges with an 18# bar. Various and sundry machines for rows, pull-downs, biceps, shoulder press. Feet up crunches with 10# medicine ball on feet - 100 reps, then Russian Twists with 10# ball - 50 reps.

Now, I’m no fan of machines and never do them when training on my own. They occasionally show up in my weekly trainer-guy workout – today more than usual. I tolerate them with the trainer-guy because (1) this is a commercial gym and par for the course and (2) a bit of variety actually works for me, especially combined with being pushed to the max effort.

So, two PR’s today (squat and dips). I’m a happy camper.

Good to see some other lightweights in here

rc, thanks for the welcome!

Lol at soft core porn! C-Bear you never fail to bring a laugh - oh wait, you might actually be serious!

I think powerlifting would be cool, but I don’t know anyone around here that does it. Maybe when I move back to the US, whenever that will be. It is something that I’ll keep in mind. They have a 500lb club at my gym and that’s something I’ll be working on while getting ready for “show-pony-time”.

I’ll also have to keep the 100 mile bike thing in mind - they have great bike trails in Germany… Hmmm - great ideas!

show pony…love it!

If I was to compete in anything it would be in strongman stuff, or a triathlon(maybe) A tri would be the furthest anyone would guess I could or would do…

As far as figure…I give em props, but have no interest…
What do you all think about Bodybuilding? I’d rather do that over figure…no hooker heels! And I would compete in a natural fed, especially because the women look, um, more natural?

Oh, and HI!!

That pink show pony avatar is totally cracking me up! Two thumbs up.

I love Germany, and have lots of family there. If I lived there, the wurst, spaetzle and beer would completely mess up my diet.

Hi right back! Great work you are doing.

I have truly mixed feeling about female bodybuilding. Those competitors have my respect for all the hard work and sacrifice necessary to pursue that goal. But I can’t get past my lifetime of socialization as to what female beauty means to think that those bodies are aesthetically pleasing.

If they took the hooker heels and the sparkles off the suits in Figure, I’d think that was about right. YMMV.

bodybuilding= no sparklies, or high heels

For now, I’ll just stick to lifting heavy and see what happens  I really don’t have the desire to be judged, like someone else said, by a fat, bald guy…
