Exactly, and again i was trying to convey the essence of what you just said. People seem to just naturally gravitate to calling others “stupid” for any reason and usually it’s their own ignorance, arrogance and assumptions.
The cell phone thing. What if he’s on one call, walking down the street. Then his line clicks and he pulls the phone out of his pocket, checks the caller ID and presses a button to switch lines then holds the phone in his hand to switch back to the other. All this happens and you “just” happen to walk past him and pass your condisending judgement in all of your superiority complexed grandeour.
See this is just how it works. You pass judgement on others in your mind, never considering the circumstances you may not be aware of. That makes you stupid or should i say ignorant.
Personally i eliminated this style of mentality from myself years ago, when i came to the conclusion that i have never met a stupid person, unless the were retarded with a severe learning disability, the ones i labeled as stupid were a result of my warped perceptions and ignorance.

Sorry chief, but I didn’t “just” walk past him. We were walking in the same direction for several blocks, there was no switching going on. What IF he was doing this and then IF that happened IF I walked past at that precise instant? Ever hear of Occam’s razor? The simplest explanation is the most likely? As far as sudarman wrote about the possibility that the guy was worried about radiation: yeah, that’s a pretty good possibility. Although in that case I would’ve called him an overly cautious sissy instead of an idiot. I doubt that’ll bother him though when I’m dying of my brain tumor

I’d have to agree with the statement that the average person is not bright. However, I think it applies to the majority.
