I am trying to add the clean and jerk to my training, which is why I’m practicing the hang clean. The issue I’m having is when I extend my hips, knees, and ankles the bar comes and smacks my junk. Is there any tips, tricks, cues, or any advice for my form?
To me the issue seems to be that you are not generating enough upward momentum. If you get everything right, the junk will move upward and out the way with your movement.
That or try a closer in grip and look to see if you are pulling with your arms before necessary. And remember, even the best of us will cop a hit to the crotch now and again.
