The Concept of Separation of Church and State

(Just a random example).

I don't get the opposition to the Separation of Church and State.

Next, a return to the principles of the divine rights of Kings?

I'm posting from Europe, so feel free to tell me to shut the hell up if you like , but why not look up the following (again random) terms:

Huguenots, Inquisition, heresy, blasphemy...

All this time we (Norwegians/Europeans/Westerners/whatever) have been trying to explain the 'Jeffersonian Democracy' idea of Separation of Church and State to, let's say (gasp...), Muslims coming to live here... That whole secular society thing that somehow seems to hard to grasp for some, where the Clergy doesn't get to make the laws and what not. Kinda the polar opposite of Sharia. Were we wrong all along?

I'm honestly not trolling or deliberately being offensive here.

Everything you need to know about the separation of temple and state can be learned from reading the New Testament story of the arrest, trial and crucifixion of Jesus. When religious authorities can use the power of the state to silence ideological challenges to their authority or religious dogma what you get is an unholy alliance that is pure evil.
