I agree with all of the last 4 post…LET THE ZOMBIE TRAINING BEGIN
Unfortunately we’re probably going to have to do some jogging and other catabolic stuff as part of the training.
Zombie workout
Circuit style where hordes of zombies come at you. You want the endurance for it so here it goes.
Circuit one: Melee weapons
10 sledge hammers to ground (imagine head where hitting)
10-15 Axe swings
10-15 Baseball swings
10-15 Tire flips
10-15 Knife stabs
Circuit two: Short-long rage weapons
5 shot gun shots
supper set with reload
7 Desert eagle shots
Supper set with reload
20 M16 shots with drop set of 10 shots
supper set with reload
20 grenade throws
Circuit three: Vehicles
5 x 4 kilometer race against time
5 left hand turn drifts
supper set with 5 right hand turn drifts
4 sets of backing up in straight line pinned
3 sets of jumping out of car while still moving
10 sets of 10 feet jumps
Circuit four: Miscellaneous
3 sets of lock picking
4 sets of looking for food
4 sets of butt secks (gotta do what you gotta do)
5-6 sets of defecating/voiding
3 sets of 5 min make outs
3 sets of 20 mins sleeps
NOTE- You can add things that you have the equipment for as this program is just a general example of what your could do.
No need to deload on this program can be run all year round. Expect to see freakish survivability gains.
Forgot to add the BLING BLING to my program.
EDIT: I should have made it say “Program” or “Workout” darn.
I personally would rather focus on 400m training for cardio. Remember zombies can’t run or move fast so great reflexes and mobility is a must. I’m just glad that I’ve found like minded vigilant zombie combatants to hold off the zombie army … we’ll need to establish a fortified rallying point and stock pile guns ammo and food, preferably live-stock and farm area for sustaining life for an unknown number of years.

What if they are zombies like the ones from 28 days later and or I am Legend (if you classify them as zombies)?
Why in the movies no one is seen in tanks?..surely zombies wouldn’t be able to get in, unless they have super human strength.

They kind of made a tank in the remake of Dawn of the Dead … complete with chain saws and shit … if zombies had super human strength they would cease to be classified as zombies and be classified more as super mutants
I agree, Mobility and endurance is going to be MAJOR keys in surviving the zombie apocolypse. Also using that grey matter above your shoulders. Preferably, trapping or otherwise outsmarting them would be preferrable to outright hand to hand combat with them.
Should combat be initiated I would want some thick leather armor which will reduce the likleyhood of getting bitten or scratched. A motorcycle helmet with those clear tear off things so you can continue to keep the face mask down while in heavy combat and not have your vision distorted by zombie blood.
I’m also thinking spear and shield something like in 300, keep them at a distance and off you, whenever something is frenzying, I don’t care how good you are, you run the riskof getting cut. Keep em at a distance and work thier legs with the spear to immobilize them, then come back for the killing/decapitating blow once you are relatively in control of the situation.
My choice of vehicle would be a heavy ass military grade HumVee with two helicopter tubines mounted on it. The blades would be mounted and angled to protect the front and back of the vehicle from attack, while still allowing visibility and manueverability. The blades could be run at a relatively low speed and still destroy any zombie they come in contact with. Plus it would look super cool.

Mandatory zombie training movie: Zombieland comes out 10/2/09
So we need to start drafting plans for the helicopter turbine humvee then … maybe train in the phalanx ala Spartans with 10-15 foot spears … we need some women folk to sew together our leather armor unless one of you pansys know how
Also, how about cheyenne mountain for a rallying point?
I for one cannot wait for the zombie hordes. I’m hoping it’s a cross between I am legend (night walking zombies = fast killing machines), Shawn of the dead (stupid, slower zombie cousins), and the Call of Duty: World at War Nazi Zombie game… this would be the true definition of Epic.
We train on the slower day walkers, until we can take on the night zombies, in preparation for the Zombie Nazi Horde that keeps coming in waves.
I watched it but the problem is that they know it’s an experiement.
It’s a cool concept but they know that some rules still apply, which wouldn’t be the case in a true end-of-the-world situation.
I.E. When people come to mess with them they have to kinda shrug it off, instead of putting an arrow in someone’s chest like you really would.
There was also a tank, of sorts, in Land of the Dead calling Dead Reckoning. Had miniguns, missile launchers, fireworks, and was fairly heavily armored.
A vehicle like that wouldn’t be my first choice, though. It would make too much noise and require a metric fuckton of gasoline. If you need a motorized vehicle, I’d go with a hybrid car that made as little noise as possible. Barring that, just use a bike. You can cover a fair amount of ground fairly quickly and not make any noise (provided you have some WD-40 on hand).
I’d definitely second the heavy leather. A thick leather jacket and heavy duty motorcycle riding gloves and pants would cover you fairly well, along with a good pair of boots and the aforementioned motorcycle helmet with face shield.
As far as melee weapons go, you would probably want something that can also be used as a tool. My picks would be a crowbar and a machete. As far as firearms go, I would want ones that have large magazines and fire fairly common ammo (not something like .45 ACP or .357 magnum rounds). I’d probably have to go with a Beretta Cx4 carbine (see pic) and Px4 pistol in 9mm. You can get mags that hold up to 30 rounds and can be used with either the Cx4 or the Px4, and both can be fitted with a wide variety of modifications, so they can be changed to fit whatever the situation called for.

What the hell are you doing? Don’t post the rally points and locations of our fortifications on the internet? We should only share them with each other and those who we’re close to and trust.

Exactly my point. I would answer the door with whatever guns or weapons I had and said we can trade or whatever, but you make any false moves, I will shoot you in the face and take all your stuff, so really i’ll be looking for a reason to shoot you and take your stuff, so remember that when you are here in my compound to trade.
In a true post apocolyptic world, there will be very few people who could survive of thier own accord. Once the resources from stores and the like are burnet out, like probably weeks, there will be people looking for resources. Any major city is going to be a true warzone, my suggestions would be to get far away from them and fast. In the country, you are still going to have to deal with roving gangs looking for resources, but they will kill eachother and be killed off quickly by well fortified positions. You really would be very good off way out in the boonies with enough resources to survive a year. Preferably water filtration (a berkey will filter 20,000 gallons of water) and canned or dehydrated food. Then you would need defensive measures, Watchmen and lots of long range guns and ammo. You sign up your area that anyone past a certain point without direct permission to enter will be shot by long range rifle just for approaching. If people are looking for trade they must wait at a designated spot, ring a bell or somehting and wait for someone to come out to them.
When one person goes down to meet them there are still a bunch of long range rifles trained on the position. If people do just happen to walk onto the plot, you really can’t take any chances and just have to shoot them. I would avoid travel for up to one year if possible. You would need to gather resources and personell quickly and find your stronghold.
I already have a couple places I know that would work well, plus our city isn’t all that big, so we probably wouldn’t get too much traffic, the rural to urban percantage around me is pretty large. Hell the entire adirondack state park is just a few miles away, there is literally endless wilderness there with plenty of fresh water lakes and wildlife.

I watched an episode last night which dealt with this battery powered trike that they made. It was pretty cool until the punked out and let the solar panel get smashed by those mofos. At that point in the experiment I’d be like “time out you all need to lay on the ground cause I just killed you all. Any disagreeing with me will result in actual death.”

Ooops my bad … from henceforth any reference to the rallying point will be called Galt’s Gulch
I really like it alot, they have many very experienced people, so rather than the desperate starvation drama youd get with survivor ect, they build alot of cool interesting stuff but there is def some fake drama.

Give The Road by Cormac McCarthy a read for a good feel of what a post apocalyptic world would be like.

Or you could just wait for the movie, it’s out soon.
