The Baby Huey Chronicles

The rundown: I was always a chubby kid, my clothes came from the husky section and my mother called me Baby Huey. Eventually I grew into my body and became a good athlete, playing two sports in college. After college I tried to keep fit by going to the gym, running and following the latest exercise and diet fads. After 20 years of yo-yo dieting and barefoot running, I’m weak as hell and feel like sh*t.

The objective: Get off the diet band wagon and get strong. That’s it. I’m throwing away any hope of looking like an underfed male model and focusing on my lifts. I’ll stop looking for success in the mirror and start looking for it in the rack.

The plan: I’ll start by using a simple 5 x 5 workout and keep adding weight to my lifts until I reach the strength levels of my twenty’s. Once accomplished I will evaluate my workouts and address areas needing improvement.

Any comments or suggestions from you along the way would be great!
