Mr. Jim Wendler,
Just wanted to say thank you for creating an awesome program, and writing great articles here on T-Nation. I love reading what you have to say about training and life in general.
I used your 5/3/1 program a few years back for about six months and made great progress on it. Since it was working so well, I decided to try a different program (sarcasm). I piddled around for a few years, but then this summer, I decided to pick one program and stick with it for a long time. I chose yours because I had ran it before, and I believed in it (very important). I am currently on my eighth cycle, and all of my lifts are still going up very rapidly. I can honestly say I am the strongest I have been in my life. I'm 23 years old, 5'9", 180 lbs. My best lifts are as follows:
Squat - did 365 for 3 yesterday; felt like I could have done 5 (this was a PR)
Bench Press - did 270 for 4 today and 255 for 7 last week (both PR's)
Deadlift - did 405 for 5 last week; felt like I could have done 10
Press - did 180 for 5 last week (PR lift)
As I said before, my lifts are still going up very rapidly, which amazes me. Thank you for creating a great program that is easy to follow and understand, and is easily adjustable to suit everyone's needs.
