For application to wet membranes, some lotions might not be friendly. If in doubt about this, touch to your tongue to eval discomfort.
Tiny amounts of T esters in oil can also work, but the action is slower and perhaps less local.

Im sure we are all aware of this effect with steroids, Im curious as to why topical offers particular advantages for women over simply very low doses of testosterone, or any androgen, orally.

Interesting idea (and not just for sex purposes)…you wouldn’t even have to apply it directly to get hightened libido…why not just apply to her ass or something and let the test get into her system that way?
I would normally never recommend injectable T for women but I had never thought of androgel for women…guess it makes sense, you can control the dose very easily so you get a nice slow/steady release of hormones without having to use long estered gear which could cause irreversable changes if you go too high, with the Tgel you could just stop any time you want…it also avoids the constant injections needed to maintain a low stable level of T which I am sure would be preferable to most women.
Westclock - prop wouldn’t get absorbed through the GI tract…it would need to be an oral steroid…not that that would ever fly anyways, I am sure the media would have a fuckin field day with steroids that taste like candy.
Her tissues can respond strongly to testosterone. A small local topical dose can have a strong effect with less systemic effects as systemic doses can be less. There is a strong effect on the nerves as well and sensations increase.
Injected or oral is purely systemic and is a high risk option.
Note that women can make T from DHEA in the adrenals. This is often DHEA rate limited and outside of HPOA feedback control. Women can try 25mg/day. Watch for acne and hair growth which indicates systemic levels. 25mg can be too much for some women.
[Same thing happens for men, but the amounts created in the adrenals are trivial compared to there natural levels. Men can take 50mg as they get older as part of general support.]

It does absorb, I should have specified sub-lingual, hence the candy, and done correctly it will absorb just like any fat in the digestive system, although that requires gel caps, overall both just do not absorb as well as intramuscular, but women don’t need a large dose to be effective.
You can make your own oral test will limited difficulty, its just not incredibly effective…
But KSman, I do understand the concept now, I had never really considered that the testosterone could act so locally, but I suppose it does make sense.

I think the androgel would be a much better alternative for any women (the few) who are taking T for their respective sport (BB, figure, fitness, track, etc) as it would be much more controlled delivery than injection.
Women also absorb T from .5 1.0mg estrogen tablets intravaginally. Or fractions of those amounts. Much better than buccal as nothing hits the GI or creates first pass liver SHBG increases. So T can be expected to be adsorbed similarly. So we should expect some systemic effects. T should also absorb well through dry or wet labia tissues. Seems that cheap E tablets can be way cheaper than creams and just as effective, need to confer with my HRT doc about this, we talk shop a lot.
Women do react strong and well to intermittent T because there baseline levels are so low. And the change in T is so relatively large that local tissues and nerves really do have a strong response.
For normal men, its only a blip when they apply to their scrotum or penis. But T on the penis really does wonders if guys have low T or have had low T for a long time and are currently on TRT and feeling a little numb.
In the US, women can get a legal prescription (from her OB) for a 2% compounded testosterone propionate cream.
It’s a topical ointment without alcohol or other irritants, so she can put it anywhere she wants without discomfort or burning.
As far as increasing vaginal “tone”, well, nothing strengthens the pelvic floor muscles better than using Ben-wa balls. It’s weighlifting for the vagina. Hey, why use steroids if you don’t lift??
