Testosterone Boosting Experiment

Hello everyone, I just started an experiment to boost my Testosterone using supplements.

I’ve been following a ‘‘program’’ I made up to get things varied in a way. I started this 10 days ago. The program consists of two supplement stacks that are similar in a way, but there’s a difference in quantities and also ingredients. I’m going to call them A and B.

-A:
D-aspartic acid 3000mg, Tribulus Terrestris Extract (40% saponins) 1500mg, Zinc monomethionine 150mg (as far as I know, it provides 30mg of Zinc), Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate) 25mg, Vitamin D3 20mcg, Vitamin E (D-alpha-Tocopherol) 121mg and Creatine monohydrate 15g.

-B:
Magnesium Citrate 200mg, Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate) 10mg, Zinc citrate dihydrate 10mg, Vitamin D3 50mcg, Vitamin K1 (Phytonadione) 20 mcg, D-aspartic acid 2352mg, Nettle leaf extract 4:1 40mg, Red ginseng extract 4:1 40mg, Fenugreek extract 4:1 40mg, Boron Citrate 8mg, Piperine 5mg, Creatine monohydrate 15g and L-Carnitin Tartrate 1/2 measuring tsp.

I take one day A the next day B. A, B, A, B and so on.
-On day A, I take it 30 minutes before breakfast (D-aspartic acid, Tribulus and Zinc come together and are divided into 6 capsules, so I take 2 in the morning with the rest of supplements, and 4 capsules 30 minutes before training) Creatine Monohydrate though, I take after breakfast.
-On day B, I take it 20 minutes before breakfast. Except for the Creatine, which again, I take after breakfast, and L-carnitin tartrate which I take after Training.

I plan to take that for 1 month. So on February 10th I will have a break for 2 weeks. Then I will resume for another month (if it works).
I’m going to get bloodworks done on those 2 weeks of rest. I guess it’s a nice and appropriate time to do it, to avoid interferences on the test results.
I was thinking checking Prolactin levels in addition to Testosterone levels. What else should I check?

Any other comments or suggestions? I know it’s quite a cocktail but being just supplements I couldn’t think of any other way to really get results. There’s many things involved in the hormonal process. As you can see some ingredients are for boosting testosterone and others to control unwanted side effects like Prolactin rise. I know getting actual Testosterone is more direct to get results, but it’s not possible for me to get it. And it’s also a huge step to take anyway.
Like I said, I’m open for suggestions and extra info you think might help the cause, so we all learn and find the best way together. Also if you have any questions about my post, feel free to ask. I’m not an expert though (not even close), all I know and do is because I’ve been researching and contrasting info for a while on official medical/research papers.

That’s a long post with lots of details so I won’t address it all up just throw a few thoughts at you.

  • Are you testing blood before this?
  • These supplements aren’t really meant to be run on alternative days, plus throwing that much in all at once, if something does work you won’t know what it was.
  • Honestly it seems over complicated
  • Prolactin - unless you already have issues won’t be an issue I probably wouldn’t even bother testing it.
  • Test free T and shgb.
  • I’d test immediately at the end of the protocol I’d say any increase would likely have diminished by 2 weeks.
  • Prepare for lackluster results
  • What are you hoping to achieve and why do you think your test needs boosting?

Hope these questions and thoughts help?

I’m not sure what you’re hoping to learn?

Thank you Alex for your comment. It’s the kind of response I wanted.

-I didn’t test blood before this. Yes, my bad. I guess I was just expecting to see the results and judge. But definitely a mistake from my part.
-Regarding the second and third statements: I didn’t find anyone who got results just taking one supplement. And also knowing that there are many compounds involved in Testosterone production, it only made sense to try to boost them ‘‘all’’ (the ones that are known to have correlation with it).
-Some people got gyno problems when taking Tribulus. Also if Testosterone rises I expect estrogen to rise to balance too. And therefore prolactin will rise as well. As far as I know, Prolactin is directly related with gyno. Better safe than sorry, that’s why I wanted to get it checked.
-I will check Free T and SHGB as you suggest and will do right after the protocol. Thank you for the advice.
-I’m mentally prepared and aware of the likely disappointing results to come. After all, it’s an experiment.
-I’m hoping to achieve a high level of Testosterone and the benefits from it. I don’t know for certain if it NEEDS boosting, I just want to boost it. But anyway, my libido has never been great, a boost in the gym (performance and results) would be really appreciated and I also want to get my beard full.

How are you going to know if your experiment worked when you don’t have any “before” readings?

How are you going to know which of your “supplements” were effective if you haven’t separated any of them out?

This could be a really valuable thing for you to do, but I think it would be smart to familiarise yourself with the scientific method first so you can get some usable results.

Yeah, it was a mistake. I didn’t think about that. I guess it’s going to be a comprobation in reverse. I get the results right after the protocol and compare them with the results after 2 weeks of rest. It’s pretty much the same thing, right?

The idea of my experiment is to see if it works by taking the supplements together. The theory is that they need to work together, each one doing its own thing, in order to get results.

Thanks for the comment man, I really appreciate it

I understand that test levels até what they are and by suplements and test boosters you can raise marginaly your levels while on the effects of the compounds tô let’s say 30, 60+ ng/dl on total test and 1 to 3 ng/dl on free test.

But i wold like to ser the results of that experiment anyway.

From what i learned here and from experience the only way to boost test os beeing Young and changing your habits.

Example: you drinks, smoke, sleep badly, are stressed, no social and sex life, fat, shitty diet, sexentary … If you fix ALL that you Will probably ser a 200-300 ng-dl boost in testosterone permanently until your 50s.

This didn’t happen for me until I went on TRT (I tried almost all of the test boosters out there) couldn’t grow a beard until that point, almost zero body hair, although body hair is something I could happily live without…

I also experimented on my dad with T boosters (and blood tests!) - he already had higher t than my natural levels and is still mid range despite being mid 60s with various health issues - the results were essentially non existent, but hey I enjoy an experiment!

Just make sure when you do blood tests you take them first thing in the morning (peak). Maybe give it a month from end of protocol test to next blood test. I would also personally go with all of day A for 6-8 weeks then test, then all of day B for 6-8 weeks then test wouldn’t alternate them daily.

Whatever you choose to do keep us posted!

Also consider ashwagandha -ksm-66. Tried ashwagandha but not the ksm-66 (literally the worst tasting powder I’ve ever used) but the ksm-66 version is supposed to be the best, worth a shot!

Scientifically, no, but it’s the best thing you can do at this point.

I think i’m just gonna keep with the initial plan. Then maybe I have to try that option. Would it really make a huge difference anyway?
I’m going to research some more about ashwagandha. If it ends up looking promising I will probably add it to the program for the following months to come. I’m mostly finding texts about its benefits for anxiety. If I do take it in the end, I’ll try that ksm-66 you say.
Thank you buddy!

An interesting experiment. It’s a pity you didn’t check testosterone previously. This means you are locked in a perspective, where any positive sensation may be part of the placebo effect. In any case, I wish you the best of luck.

Just a thought: Why don’t you focus on lowering the estrogen instead of raising testosterone? Check out Ecdysterone supplementation (but beware - many underdosed supplements out there).

Ecdysterone seems pretty interesting for getting a boost anabolic-wise. That wouldn’t help me too much with my beard and libido though. But I will definitely keep it in mind for muscle gaining purposes.
Thank you!

Re growth of more beard, you may try collagen supplementation.

Libido-wise, there are many factors to be considered - the most important being the mental state (the brain itself). Just by concentrating a lot on libido dysfunction, will probably result in a lower libido. Focus on mental strategies?

I thought collagen was just for the skin. If it helps with hair I will definitely try that out!

Mental strategies? Well, I’m not thinking about my lack of libido all the time, if that’s what you’re saying.

interesting experiment. I’ll follow this topic

Baldness shampoos especially DHT blocking ones …does F-all for hairloss but amazing for beard (and hairy back!):open_mouth::hugs:

But it doesn’t make sense… DHT is what makes body hair and beard grow… How is blocking it going to help?

No idea, have other ingredients to thicken hair, stimulate the follicle maybe?

Guys, I had to stop the experiment one week ago and I’m not going to resume it. I was having digestive problems everyday at all times. Diarrhea, basically. Seems like I’m not physiologically prepared for that much supplement intake.
I can tell you though how it affected me in other ways:

-I got chest sensitivity, like a lot. Wearing tshirts or any other top clothing was bearable but pretty uncomfortable. I also got like a pinching sensation on either nipples depending on the day. They were erect several times during the day and became erect at the slightest touch.
-My libido increased, I was very horny almost all the time. Orgasms felt amazing.
-I think I was able to perform better when working out.
-I also had more intense dreams.
