Test Prop vs Enanthate or Cypionate for TRT?

#1

I searched through stickies and forums but couldn't seem to find this answer.
I have seen on other forums that some prefer Test prop over Test cypionate and test E. Some claim that Propionate tends to induce far fewer estrogen related side effects such as bloat than do the other esters of this powerful hormone.
So, just curious what you guys think?

I have heard this as well. I haven’t seen any data, could be bro science.

I’ve read there’s not much of a difference between Test C and Test E - buy the best deal or whatever is available. Not sure about Test P.

Dunno about the estrogen specifically, but the best I ever felt on TRT was with a nightly shot of prop. My theory for trying it was that it would more closely mimic the overnight production of T that occurs naturally. I had been stable on Cypionate, and when switching to prop I did the math and took a smaller amount of prop so the T after ester weight eas the same as my Cyp dose.

Nightly shots, subq, of about .1ml from a 31g .3cc insulin syringe. Those were the best 6 weeks on TrT ever. I got lab work at the 5 week point and total T was within 3% of my previous levels.

I’ve since messed with cyp/prop blends, still nightly, but without the same results. These days it’s just a twice weekly shot of cyp. It’s good enough, but definitely not optimal for me.

The main difference is duration of action / half-life, with frequent injection such as Billegitimate’s letting propionate work very well, and cypionate and enanthate still being injected preferably at least twice per week.

The other difference is that in this particular drug class milligrams are reported in terms of total weight rather than amount of parent steroid contained, so (for example) 150 mg/week of testosterone propionate does contain a little more testosterone than 150 mg/week of enanthate or cypionate. This however can be completely compensated for with dosing, as mentioned.

I don’t think there are any differences in conversion to estogen.

It could well be, as a fine point, that an individual does better with a fluctuating pattern as per Billegitimate’s thought. For most, two or more injections of enanthate or cypionate per week is a perfectly good way to do it.

There are also men such as myself who do just fine with one shot of cyp per week, with no fluctuations in mental or physical well being. I am not a doctor, but I believe if someone tests mid-week or near the end of the week at 600+ ng/dl, I don’t see there being a need for twice-weekly injections.

I think many guys, certainly not all, try to correct problems not present, and wind up screwing around with things more than letting them work.

Keep in mind that

Test P = 80 % Pure Test; half life of 2-3 days
Test C = 70% Pure Test; half life of 5-7 days
Test E = Pretty much identical to Test C in both respects

Given this information, I would go with EOD Test Prop. It’s more painful but you can use a thinner syringe (25g-28g) to inject and plus you can inject lower amounts of it since it has a higher concentration of pure testosterone. This protocol will lead to more steady levels, less bloat, and less aromatization into DHT and estrogen.

So after talking my doc into switching to test prop. I took prescription in to cvs and thee said it is on backorder and has been for a while.
Just my luck!
