Test Injections, Quantity for 63yr Old?

#1

I'm 63,11% bf, and I take 2cc aweek divided 4 days apart.
My goal is increased muscle and greater leanness.
I lift 3+ times a week and follow very clean eating.
I supplement with Plazma, Mag-10, and Indigo as directed.
Is my test amount sufficient for my goals?
Should I cycle off this much test occasionally?

So you do not do any aromatase inhibitors or hCG?
How long doing that.

How are you feeling now in terms of:
libido
energy
initiative
mood
tolerance
brain fog

2 cc/ml of what?
100 mg/ml or 200mg/ml
please use mg’s for dosing

Can you post lab work with lab ranges?

E2 management is mission critical for most guys.
vitamin D3 is converted to vit-D25, a critical hormone
thyroid hormone status is also very important, I hope that you gave been using iodized salt.

Please read these stickies:

  • advice for new guys
  • protocol for injections
  • finding a TRT doc -if your doctor is not good

There is more involved than T.

Labs:
TT
FT
E2
CBC
hematocrit !
AST/ALT
fasting cholesterol
fasting glucose
PSA
DRE [digital rectal exam]
TSH
fT3
fT4
vit-D25
DHEA-S
IGF-1 to eval GH status

TRT is forever, you do not cycle.

age: 63
waist
weight

What health issues?
Blood pressure and pulse good?
Any Rx or OTC meds?
Feel cold easily? - read thyroid basics sticky
Outer eyebrows sparse? - read thyroid basics sticky
Any prostate or urine flow issues? - E2 is a critical factor
Hair loss on legs below the knees? -history of low T, TRT reverses this

100mg T per week gives good results for most guys
if serum T levels low, need more T
most in 100mg loose fat and gain muscle, E2, thyroid and cortisol and some other things also need to be enabling.

Thats 400 mg of testosterone per week! That’s not TRT!

Who prescribed this amount and where do you get it?

Lol, much as I admire you hitting the gym as a 63 year old, as Brick noted, this isn’t really TRT…I don’t imagine any doctor advised you to be using that much…it’s supposed to be a medicine, not a supplement.

So essentially, I second everything Brick said. I’m also wondering how long you’ve persisted on this protocol.

#6

I was using .5cc 2x a week, but after the lab of 117 total test, he upped it to 1cc twice a week.

You wrote"persist" on this regimin.
What did you mean?
I feel great.
Should I be watchful for certain adverse effects?

That’s 400 mg per week! That’s four times a starting clinical dose!

I really have not heard about anyone testing at 117 with 200 mg T per week. What brand of T are you using? Are you doing injections correctly? Perhaps you are a rare case but I have never even heard of anyone who needs more than 200 mg per week to get into the mid to high normal range.

Haven’t you read any of the package insert or has your doc even discussed side effects with you?

#8

What type of doctor are you seeing? Is this through an actual endocrinologist, or is this some type of anti-aging thing?

Did you ever start out with the normal dose? How long after the 1cc/week protocol were you tested?

Maybe KSMan can weigh in on whether it’s possible that some people don’t absorb even injected T, or whether you’re perhaps using a bad batch of meds.

Very strange though.

Really not enough lab data to do anything proper.

Not using iodized salt is a really bad idea unless you can identify how else you are getting iodine.

Sounds like you are a testosterone hyper metabolizer. We see a few guys who need 300mg/week to get labs that others get with 100mg/week,

Please read my first post and consider all points there.
